I may be off by 10# because I'm to lazy to actually look in notes, but a Clemens chevy and a RY45 ford (388#) where within 2 or 3# of each other (both 436 to 440 CID) and an SB2.2 would be in the same range if the CID was similar (Mostly crank and rod weights) as my old 410 SB2 is basically the same as a clemens or fordOriginally posted by KTMLew View Post
What does an Aluminum block SB2.2 weigh? Seen it mentioned that SB2 is heavy but what parts are heavier? These aren't old NASCAR cast iron blocks so I don't understand how could be that much heavier. How much does say 50lbs affect the car?
Don't believe this one is a 20 y/o version either. Believe was originally built for Brandon Overton? Maybe 10-12 years old?

Edit: After some research you CAN put SB2.2 heads on a regular block with appropriate lifters & rockers. So the bottom end should/could be identical to any other stock bore spacing engine. Surely the heads aren't that much heavier?

Theirs is a 465 so slightly heavier. Can't imagine 10-15 lbs would have much effect especially in parts down low is best way i can put it.Originally posted by billetbirdcage View Post

Dart blocks are advertised as 105#. I didn't know you CAN bolt those heads on regular block.

Nobody has it all figured out. But there's a lot more guys that learned something at team a and sells it at team b than guys who actually understand how things work. Then, there are even fewer who actually understand how things work and have the creativity to come up with new solutions.Originally posted by blncfn57
I don't disagree with your assessment, but I don't think there's anyone in the sport that has it 100% figured out (perhaps you do). Seems odd to me that there are people who follow the sport that have not heard of TC or Vinny, that's all.Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

I was an auto technician for nearly 50 years. Worked with about half-dozen great techs over that period. Some of them couldn't read or barely sign their name. But they were fast with sketchy ethics. Sold tons of repairs. Customer complaint is X. Sell them 1500-2000 of "repairs" (struts rarely fix anything) and car come back 2 days later (on that techs day off) with original complaint.Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View Post

Guess who got the ticket and a pat on the back along with the "can you help me out here buddy". Take me 20 minutes to find the original problem, maybe 40 to fix it. Get paid one hour...maybe/sometimes. Sometimes nothing. I had a guarantee but if billed more than 40 hrs, got the extra pay. Shop made sure the 40's were rare.
So for those that complain about the Technician label...so you want it fixed or fast? Do you want the fastest surgeon doing your heart bypass or the best?
For those that can't see the parallel, oh well.

You're correct, and those 3 stand above MOST others as far as improving a teams results.Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View Post

They are running as expected at a Lucas show, IMO. Was kinda cool to see Clanton win his heat, I think he may have even smiled. lolOriginally posted by KTMLew View PostNot so good results at AllTech so far. Clanton on pole for feature, HTF didn't make the show unless they get gifted a start due to most popular U-tubers.

I've had the feed muted since last B so don't know if they've mentioned any provisionals? I'd hope that would go to a team that's signed up to run the series.Originally posted by blncfn57 View Post
I think he won a race there last year too. He's got a couple more nights there, guess we will see if he improves.
