Here’s a novel idea after watching 2 hours of yawn at Peoria.

EVERY class hot lap/qualifies. Period. The cream is still going to rise to the top and it’d save over an hour.

Complaining about the impact of streaming like many lazy promoters do. There were probably more people who stayed home when they saw how many support classes were scheduled for a week night show than there were who stayed home because it was streamed on Dirt Vision.

Agree 💯. Maybe there is a promoter on the Hell tour who is willing to take a chance on running just the late models & mods during a midweek show. They just might be pleasantly surprised on the type of crowd they draw. They have to break this backgate mentality. Look no further than the sucess of the Flo night in America races and the High Limit races.

Always funny when the promotor complains about the customer complaining (not saying you have to take action on everything you hear, but at least listen).... Hopefully someone puts the 'promote' back in promoter... If you are having trouble getting people in the stands probably not going to improve by running an inefficient show on a week night....

I worked with a promoter who said they guys and gals in the lower classes deserve to race in front of a big crowd like the upper classes. He said they support me every week.

if DV aint giving these tracks anything for streaming besides dropping the sanction fee then theyre getting robbed. Alot of these tracks are signing bad agreements especially when theyre not disclosing actual viewer #s

I would ask that promoter how much of that big crowd was still there to watch the lower classes when their feature hit the track after midnight on a week night? And how many of those fans will come back to watch them again?

Back in the late 1960s when I ran Eldora on Sunday afternoons Earl had 4 classes, Sprint cars just starting to get wings, Late Models which were new Chevelles, Torinos, Chargers, etc., Hardtops including my '39-'40 Ford flatheads which Mr. Baltes called Early Model Stocks, and a Hobby/Bomber type class. Had large car counts in all classes. Grandstands were like $1.50 and pit passes were $2.50, crowds were good and a guy that ran decent could at least break even. Shows were run efficiently and usually over at an early enough hour that we could hit another track on the way home that evening. We all know that Earl knew how to promote and run a race so maybe we're just missing that with many tracks' operators. Can't call most promoters.

I do realize it is a different day and time, change is inevitable and the world continues to 'evolve' (or not in some cases). Racing has changed and so have the people participating, for better or worse; time for some things to change or we all will be looking for something else to fill our time. Weekdays or weekends, entertain the fans with what THEY want in a time that is acceptable to THEM (and I am guessing most want to be on their way home no later than 10:00 on a weekday or 10:30 on the weekend). Back gate racing will (and has) led to lower payouts and honestly fewer people that can afford to do it over the long haul. JMO

Well first off they had an 10;30 or 11:00 curfew so no races were run at midnight. He ran most of their features before the Late Models. They would pack the place every Summer Nationals race the whole time he ran the place...The classes he would run Late Models, Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hornets,
