and the hits just keep on coming. Makes perfect sense for spec engines to be considered equal with open competition, I mean 650 and 900 are so close, right. What they really mean to say with this, is we don't want Specs or CT525's running with us and we especially don't want y'all to win, but to look like we're being accommodating to your engines we are at least allowing y'all on the same track. BJ Parker is turning over in his grave. Trends my backside.

If you dont have a super motor then dont enter a super late model event crates are considered minor leagues to fans rather it be spec engine 525 engines ect. Maybe fans are tired of going to a super late model event filled with minor league cars if you think your getting penilized then just think how a super late model driver feels for getting penilized for being fast same as inverts it penilizes fastest car that night.

Fact is, in many parts of the country you won't come close to a full field with your thinking.

The ultimate series already did this earlier in the week And went into effect at rome speedway this weekend. Several big guys said they were sitting at the house with specs and 525s getting 12 inch spoilers. The same day it was posted on ultimates website with the rule change. And the said ones did show up

I wholeheartedly disagree with the SAS and Ultimate series here. The 525 is the affordable SLM engine of the future. If you give the car a weight break and spoiler enough to keep up then what is the problem? The fans are not suffering if you are not slowing down the open cars. If it is the open motor drivers bitching that they spent $40k and don't have an advantage then they are the ones who are killing the sport. You need an affordable entry point, because even people with the money to do so do not want to drop $40k to run a local or regional SLM.

              Thanks,
              Jeff.

Real racers want to race as much as possible........they may not like some of the rules, but if there is a race scheduled , most of them are going to be there.
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

An all iron engine combo is the heaviest? I can't wrap my mind around that...

They did at least give it a weight break. There are bigger problems with the rules than this point, IMO.

That one is really strange. I can't see how it makes any sense whatsoever.

so really what the new rules should say is, minimum 440 CID or bigger 2300 lb 440 CID or smaller 2400 lb also not allowed is any engine combination that doesn't cost at least $ 35000 or more (receipts required to pass tech). unfortunately for all of the racers that don't have any or all of the above will be promoted to spectator status .

There was phone call made it was discussed I got a phone call afterwards that said I guess we are gonna go they are making them run a 8 inch spoiler. I checked the ultimate website and there it was just posted.

Didn't catch that when I read it the first time, Good eye Mastersbilt!!! Can some one explain how an all steel motor over 362 cu. inch needs to weigh more than an open aluminum???? I'm confused.

Also the specs are steel blocks with aluminum heads, but if you don't call it a spec and just say it's steel/alum combo you get a 50# weight break over the spec, go figure lol.
