Yep, the chase is upon us and it's more irrelevant than ever!!!!!!! Don't care about your "gimmicked up BS called the chase". I've been ready for it since pee wee jr. gimmicked his way into a bogus championship last November! LOL!! Myself and over half the fan base of 10 or 12 years ago don't give a fat rats ass any more and one of the biggest reason's why is the gimmick called chase. You're part of a dyin' breed, muddy! LOL!Has it sunk in yet muddy ol' buddy? Two college football teams, neither of which is ranked above 15th nationally, draws double the number of spectators that the premier division of NASCAR at a venue that 10 years ago was one of the toughest tickets in all of spectator sports.Now that's sad, but very predictable.

The problem with the way it "was" is the good ones were few and far between.... The Chase is the answer to that, you have to run at the top of your game and win if you want a shot, only three pointed in, and two of those got luck cause Chase Elliot could have easily won on two different occasions, he made a mistake...twice, same mistake at that... bad restart... Now it would be cool to me to have all four of the final four be Gibb's cars but not likely... should be a heck of a run.... better then watching some panty waste dis the Flag and the Anthem....

I've seen people sitting during the National Anthem at every single 'professional' sporting event that I have ever been to, including races. Not defending Kaepernick or any of the other jackasses at all, but this isn't something that just started. But carry on with the outrage.

I don't have to like it and I don't. Neither do millions of other former fans. Face it, you're in the minority and that minority gets a bit smaller ever day. What you purport to enjoy and defend so vehemently is killing the series and you revel in the massacre and seem to be too shortsighted to see it, let alone admit it.

No one followed NASCAR Cup racing more closely than I up until around 2005. There were very few "yawners" and when there was, the champion earned it and was truly the champion. This silly gimmick chase nonsense was a goofy knee-jerk reaction to the 2003 season in which Matt Kenseth smoked the competition in the points race. He EARNED it and most definitely deserved it. The phony points reset followed and 1/2 the fandom went by-by and so did TRUE champions, for the most part. Those like you that are left aren't interested in a true and deserving champion, just artificially induced competition that allows for undeserving teams to frequently become champions. Jimmie Johnson is the one exception.

Gibb's has been faster most of the time, and how bout the Ford teams, only three this year, will Stewart/Haas make them better next year? So many things hanging in the balance!!! BBQ, I wonder how much those invisible fans you speak of that show up at all those NASCAR races have to pay for tickets? Do they pay face price or do the tracks give a discount since they don't litter the stands or use the bathroom facilities? NASCAR must love 'em, they always come back for the rain-outs! LOL!!
