You pay great wages you get great employees.

Bhahahahah…...you obviously have never been an employer!

My dad taught me a valuable lesson during our 35 years in business together. "Money is a short-lived motivator for an average worker"! Great workers are great workers because they take pride in their work, then their pay should be represented by their work.

Average workers will NEVER become great workers just because theyre paid well!

Outstanding perspective FF.....thanks for sharing that......but somehow ,some way you will be told you are wrong about everything.
At one point unions were very necessary for the reasons you mentioned .....at this point most of them get people overpaid, unmotivated and underworked.....and if truth be known probably adds a minimum of 8 to 10% to the cost of anything they touch or produce.
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Zero , your Dad was a very smart guy for telling you that......great post.

But people working for a paycheck only wouldn't understand what it means to be prideful and proud of their work.....they just want to beech and complain they aren't getting paid as much as what the guy who does take pride in his work does.

Today's unions IMO are the biggest handers out of participation trophies on earth.....too bad because it takes away from the shining stars in the company and dumbs everything down to " meets expectation" levels.....they are very socialism driven IMO.

Unions were formed because of companies taking advantage of their employees. The working conditions were horrid and at times down right dangerous. If you think for a minute these companies wouldn't take advantage of their workers then why would they move to countries like China and Mexico so, they can pay cheap labor and they would do it as well. I'm not saying unions are good for every company but, some they still are to this day so, in my opinion they are still viable and if we have to agree to disagree so be it is what it is.

Then why have some of these companies move to where the cheap labor is? They still can't treat their workers respect. I feel bad for your Uncle. Sounds like his union wasn't very good. They were just taking advantage and that has happened with some of them. They got greedy just like the companies. Greed the root of all evil.

Every active Union member on the planet and in the club will agree with you........everyone else, not so much.

At one time before all of the other workplace protections were implemented the unions were very necessary to protect workers rights.........now they just protect their own jobs and make the people they claim to be protecting almost untouchable and unfireable.....even though they should be.

It's cheaper and more economical to pay someone that sweeps the floor 10 bucks an hour instead of 20 bucks an hour because he is in a union....and heaven forbid one floor sweeper has seniority over another......then a grievance hearing is scheduled to hash it out on who really should sweep.

It's stupid and unnecessary and does nothing but add to the bank accounts of the unions and add to the end users retail price.

Most big unions are a wing of the Democrat party and could care less about the worker, silly. They just want you to vote the "RIGHT" way, pay your dues for the political coffers, join political protests, ie. obstruct highways and state houses, and beat up scabs. lol

In other words, you are being useful idiots for them.

You pay great wages you get great employees. Great employees are hard working individuals and their productivity is a lot greater than a poor employee. This is why companies are willing to pay good salaries and have good benefits. I thought you all were for a capitalist society? Competition is good right? I glad I was able to work for unions and I was willing to pay my dues. The dues was well worth the great pay compare to a "decent" wage. Labor cost is just part of any business and will always be past on to the consumer. You purchase car insurance you are helping pay for someone salary and benefits.
The consumers paid you your wages in reality and the company or business you were supposed to be working for. Not your F-in union!!!

The unions drove the auto and appliance industries out of the US and into Mexico and China, wake up!!!

You think people should pay double for these products and appreciate unions in general? Wrong!!!
