I hope you're right Klem, our regions where it occurred are different but our upbringings sound very similar.
I think people saw the worst of what we can be , and we needed to see it........what they were hoping for didn't work though, I think America needed to see itself so it can fix itself......the Capitol excitement was no doubt partially antifa etc. contrived, but also no doubt totally avoidable by the Don too.
Trump acting like the kid on the floor kicking and screaming because he didn't get the GI Joe he wanted....kind of like the dems and the Ken doll fit starting in 2016....Spoiled brats , never been punched in the face hard enough....none of em.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

The media sat silent through all of the Antifa and BLW riots burnings beatings deaths etc they also once tried to get into the capital building and also the white house too. No outrage just silence from the media as they pick and choose what you are supposed to see and believe....
Silence from some of you lemmings also...If you're not outraged, you're not paying attention!

josh: i think i have to agree with what you said. but it isn't just that generation. even this messageboard is populated with posters that are only looking for attention. and i would be willing to bet there are not that many here from the white suburbs.
i am not sure where social media will take us. but that genie is out of the bottle and there is no going back. and i know this may feel like a cheap shot, but if donald trump had not spent so much time on twitter he likely would have gotten re-elected.
right now i am trying to hope for the best after what i saw yesterday. something i never dreamed could happen in this country. but it did. and now it is time for our country to prove once again why this is the best place to live on planet earth. And the days that I keep my gratitude higher than my expectations, well, I have really good days - Ray Wylie Hubbard

Couple of points, Klem -
1. I too am hoping for the best after the chaos and pushback in DC, but my gut says we’ll have more of the same before it gets better anytime soon. The first 30 days of the Biden/Harris administration will set the stage. Whatever that stage is.Originally posted by klemmabyna View Postright now i am trying to hope for the best after what i saw yesterday. something i never dreamed could happen in this country. but it did. and now it is time for our country to prove once again why this is the best place to live on planet earth.
2. Personally, I cannot say I didn’t see this pushback coming. Honestly, I thought it would have happened before now. Just not at the magnitude of what happened. Unfortunately the door was opened for everyone in the World to see just how unstable and fragile we/USA are in this moment in time.
3. If this county is the “best place to live on planet earth†then why do some millennials, a) want to leave this country, or b) change it drastically to fit them, or c) feel that a more socialism type of platform is the only way to fix things?

How's the MAGA working out for you gullible fools? You need to start taking responsibility for your party actions. Now you want to blame children for what happen Wednesday. From videos I seen it was Grandparent and fathers and mothers at the insurgence.
Buford,I have sources who indicated that billionaire Don "the Con" Trump financed the insurgence and was organized by the Proud boys.

In concise summary, on Wednesday the leader of the executive branch incited a crowd to march on the legislative branch. The express goal was to demand that Congress and Vice President Mike Pence reject electors from enough states to deny Mr. Biden an Electoral College victory. When some in the crowd turned violent and occupied the Capitol, the President caviled and declined for far too long to call them off. When he did speak, he hedged his plea with election complaint.
This was an assault on the constitutional process of transferring power after an election. It was also an assault on the legislature from an executive sworn to uphold the laws of the United States. This goes beyond merely refusing to concede defeat. In our view it crosses a constitutional line that Mr. Trump hasn’t previously crossed. It is impeachable.
Mr. Trump’s many opponents are crowing in satisfaction that their predictions have been proven right, that he was never fit to be President and should have been impeached long ago. But Mr. Trump’s character flaws were apparent for all to see when he ran for President.
We know an act of grace by Mr. Trump isn’t likely. In any case this week has probably finished him as a serious political figure. He has cost Republicans the House, the White House, and now the Senate. Worse, he has betrayed his loyal supporters by lying to them about the election and the ability of Congress and Mr. Pence to overturn it. He has refused to accept the basic bargain of democracy, which is to accept the result, win or lose.
It is best for everyone, himself included, if he goes away quietly.Haters don't really hate you, in fact they hate themselves because you are a reflection of what they wish to be.

Until he gets banned, he will still be the Twitter political mouth piece that he’s always been. He’ll still be firing up his base one way or another, and Trump flags will still be waving proudly for years to come.
