chitcago is well over $3.00 for regular right now and has been for several weeks. Premium gasoline is over $4.00. Those $1,400.00 government/taxpayer handout's are going to pay for gasoline price increases and little else for those who are forced to pay the bloated prices to get to their places of employment, etc.
joe & the ho along with their Marxist operatives in the House, Senate and the many Marxist's on the state level are happy as mayor pete being sodomized with a golden member for the alarming spike of gasoline and diesel fuel prices. The Marxist's desperately want gas & diesel to go sky high and stay there. Some of that sentiment from the Marxist's comes from the economic revenge they feel they are exacting upon those in the more rural areas who they feel wrongly put DJT in the White House in the first place.

Around my area there are a bunch of what can be called "legacy" Democrats. They never really think for themselves, it is just a grandma and grandpa or mom and dad said we were Democrats, so we do what they told us. Or, the union newsletter told us what to do types. Those legacy Dems always liked to say that Republicans were for big oil and every time gas prices went up it was - Bush making his buddies rich - or something like that.
Well, who is making big oil rich now? No need to think too hard.
Who was the guy who managed to have good prices at the pump and give this nation energy independence?
Yeah, thought so. But we don't have mean tweets so, it's worth it, right?Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.

I’ll take the idiot challenge Buford 🙂. Thinking the Biden administration is solely responsible for fuel price increases is a narrow view, they have their share of blame but it’s deeper than that. A lot is supply and demand, when the economy tanked in 2020 well sure prices took a dive, does DJT get credit for that? While ole Donald was president the national average in May 2018 was $ 2.98 per gallon for regular unleaded, October 2018 was $2.95. Tell me again Morgs about which president gave us cheap fuel prices. February 2021 was $ 2.59 and trending up. It may well go higher, likely will. Bad move on Joe’s part to pander to the left and suspend the pipeline, politically stupid move. But a strong economy and cheap fuel prices don’t usually happen at the same time, look at history and it proves it over the last 45 years.I hate time trials.

The tax increases will take care of the strong economy. If you think only those making $400k per year will see increases, you are in for a shock. Raising the corporate tax will only increase prices on the consumer. All the good economic success that was achieved before the pandemic will be erased. I guess it's the old " cut off your nose to spite your face" deal.

The economic climate during 2018 & 2019 was just about as good as it gets and gas, even in Illinois where the gas taxes amount to around .91¢/gal., was not over $3.00 anywhere outside of chitcago. Every time the radical left is pressed on how their coveted high energy prices hurt the middle class, and especially the poor, they cheerfully retrogress to the "supply & demand" bull$hit. So, given the situation during 2018 & 2019 the "good economy/high gas prices" BS goes out the window, right kaz?
We're going to see regular 87 octane gasoline at $4.00/gal. and premium will be over $5.00 by mid=summer. Everyone connected with the petroleum industries know they can get away with price gouging because there are scores of legislators at the federal and state levels who actually are happy to see exorbitant energy prices and will make all the excuses necessary for the high prices. A huge segment of the population is willing to believe the excuses.
All energy is up, on average, 9% across the board and WE AIN'T SEEN NOTHIN' YET! I take solace in knowing my old friend ss12 has his Tesla plugged in and ready to go so gas prices don't mean much to him! LOLOL!

Source: Reuters.
DJT highest national average May 2019 = $2.90, lowest national average May 2020 = $1.88
BHO highest national average May 2011 and April 2012 = $3.93, lowest national average Feb 2016 =$1.77
Zhoe Xiden is too soon to tell but the prices are trending upward. Per barrel prices have already started to rise. Some of that could be policy, some of that could be demand, some of that could be other factors.
Early in the Trump administration they had to deal with Russia and Saudi Arabia attempting to negate the gains we made in domestic production, especially from fracking. Both the BHO admin and the incoming admin are seriously anti-fracking. Fracking helped make this nation more energy independent and the low energy prices it brought was one of the few bright spots in the BHO economy, despite their efforts to shut it down. The gains from fracking came primarily from development on private lands and the BHO and Xiden admins have banned it on public land explorations.
For sure, prices will fluctuate based on a myriad of factors. The overall economy, seasonal blends, regions, storm factors, refinery capacities, supply/demand, effects of a shutdown to the economy, but overall I'll take an administration that works toward energy independence. I have no problem with wind and solar but I also have no problem with nuclear, especially the newer technologies like MSTR (Molten Salt Thorium Reactor) which show promise. I'd like to see this country take an ALL sources energy independence view and that would include fossil fuels, renewables, and nuclear. The new admin seems highly focused on only one and wants to hobble the other two.
The effects of Keystone XL will not be immediate on prices, but indeed - it was stooooopid. A big symbolic pander to green energy donors like Tom Steyer and others.
The power mongers and manipulators have learned a lot from this pandemic. I'll just bet they can't wait for the next crisis to use to exercise national control on the masses. Gee, what could that be? Maybe, the climate crisis? Take them at their word. Which side has always said they want higher prices at the pump?Political correctness,...is the inability to speak the truth about the obvious.

Its not about supply and demand? Is there any US oil companies benefiting from the higher prices?
