This and several other things, like tax law, illegal immigration, anti union, increased green card workers, demolition of monopoly laws, discarding Glass Stegal, (Banking laws) and not regulating Trading even with the laws we have. It's about corporate profits.
I'm not against anyone making money. I'd like to see everyone make as much as they can. The trouble with corporate profits, isn't that they make too much, it's about who they make them from. That would be their own employees. When they take money from the employee, there is no transaction to pay tax on. This leaves someone else the bill for taxes. Who pays that? Of Course the employee. You and me pay the tax. We either pay a little more or do with out some services. The worst part is the disparity between corporate profits and working wages. See link. http://www.theatlantic.com/business/...conomy/273687/ Ok you may say what does this really mean. Corporations are supposed to make money. Yes they are, but if they don't reinvest or pay tax the money stops circulating in the economy. Circulation of money is more important than how much money there is. There was every bit as much money during the great depression as there was during the economic boom right before it. It just stopped making the rounds to the poor and middle class. It's called constriction, if your into economics.. Getting back to the problem today, all the things I mentioned above are about a cheap and abundant source of labor and removing anything that would effect that negatively, like Unions or Socialists or Communists. By the way there has never been a true Socialist or Communist Government. They have always been a totalitarian anarchy and labeled as communist.
Why is cheap abundant labor good for corporations? It lowers the wages threw out the whole wage scale, making more profit. It's hard to ask for a raise when there are ten out of work people, waiting to take your place. Why is it bad for the general public? It creates large unemployment and under employment, which makes a lot of people dependent on the government. This creates a bill that is paid for by taxes. This bill is not paid by the Corps. that reinvest in China and defer profits to the Caymans to avoid tax. It also does not circulate money.
So what is the fix? That is the hard part. To get Congressmen to vote against their benefactors is going to be tough. I said benefactor and for the guy that said we should have Wallmart run this country, we already do. them and a lot of other big corporate campaign donors. You reinstate Glass stegal, tax everyone that does business here the same, allow only tax deductions for improvements or investments in this country and pesue Cayman Island or other foreign deposits to evade tax as tax evasion as it should be. Enforce immigration laws. Enforce SEC regulations and prosecute them.
