I'm usually not one to comment on grammar, spelling or punctuation, because it's like throwing rocks in a glass house, but this is not readable. Want to try again, and it's too early to be drinking.

So wage inflation does not cause price inflation? Hmmm? I may have to check out http://www.marx2mao.com/M&E/WPP65.html to find out how this magic works! Totally incredible!!!!

      But a lie!

From the economists at the Cleveland Fed. Of course, don't expect the brightest bulbs in the box on here to take it as a reasonably good source (they prefer charlatan entertainers with mental health and substance abuse histories to guide their decision making) but for the normal people in the normal world, please feel free to read and discuss. They pretty much conclude that no, wage increases don't necessarily drive inflation in prices, and the opposite could actually be true: if a firm starts making money hand over fist because their product demand goes way up allowing them to raise the price due to market demand, expect the workers to demand (and get) pay increases. Well, anywhere but here in America, where the workers are there to solely serve the owners, that is... lol

Does Wage Inflation Cause Price Inflation?

No firm inherits the right to simply “mark-up” the prices of its output as a constant proportion above its costs; competitive market pressures strongly influence the pricing decisions of firms.

Finally, causation could work in the opposite direction: An increase in aggregate demand may permit firms to raise the price of their products, and the resulting increase in profits would lead workers to demand higher wages in future negotiations.

Does Wage Inflation Cause Price Inflation?[/b]… when buoyant demand reduces unemployment (at least relative to recent experienced levels), inflationary pressure develops. Firms start bidding against each other for
labour, and workers feel more confident in pressing wage claims. If the inflationary pres sure is too great, inflation starts spiraling upwards: higher wages lead to higher price
rises, leading to still higher wage rises, and so on. This is the wage-price spiral

You only need common sense, you don't need a link. Go to North Dakota and try to buy a house now. Extremely expensive for what and where you get it. Cause there's tons of work, big pay checks and money is flowing. Common sense tells you that if you go to a depressed place like Detroit, where there are no jobs and very little cash flow, houses and land are going to be a bit cheaper....

You just don't have to be all that intelligent to figger that out....

Very correct. Now which place, out side of weather concerns, would you rather live? A place where prices are high and there is a lot of opportunity to make your fortune or a ghost town, where you can't even afford the cheap stuff?

Now if you could figure a way to transport the houses in Detroit, that can't even be sold for back taxes, to North Dakota, we may have a monetary windfall.

Now some would like to blame the state of Detroit on the Unions, but Detroit was booming with the Unions. The attack and demise of the Unions are what killed Detroit. A perfect view of how, cheap labor promotes slums and a hostile environment for business. Some people just don't get it.

Yes. That is part of the article. And if you do this thing called "reading" what I posted, I clearly stated that wage increases do not raise prices, however when demand for the product goes up, the price goes up, and workers will demand wage increases.

No wonder you can't find a decent job. You can't read. The article also goes on to debunk the theory that wage increases drive price increases beyond what the market will bear. It says clearly that firms cannot just hike the price up whenever there is a wage increase, simply because no one is going to buy a $10 Big Mac.

You need to understand profit margins, price points, etc. All wage increases do in certain markets is reduce the margin. But when someone is already making a 200-500% margin, they can afford to make a little less. But they will gripe and lie and pull any shenanigan you can think of to tell people like you how bad it would be for you if they didn't make a million bucks selling stuff to you. That's the oldest trick in the book; convince the simple minded that what is best for you is also best for them so you can keep living in the lifestyle to which you have become accustomed, even if it means their standard of living goes down.

but when unemployment is his high wages will stay low employers have no incentive to hire some one at 15 bucks when he can get someone for 8 bucks an hour why do you think in North Dakota wages are so high not enough workers

Pull your head out of your back side. The Unions don't decide what car they will build. Corporate management does. The Unions didn't raise the prices on cars so they could pay the CEO and board millions of dollars and big dividends to their stock holders, Management did. The management is still in Detroit. The Unions for the most part are gone. How is that working out for Detroit? For all those that believe they want cheap and abundant labor should think long and hard and be careful what they ask for, because they may get their wish. They will become the cheap unemployed labor.

Unions didn't price themselves out of the market. Government changed the foreign trade laws that forced them out of the market. Do you think the Union or Management lobbied for that? I'm no democrat, but I'm not so blind I cant see whats going on. Don't whizz on my leg and tell me it's raining. When you loose all of the Unions, whether you belong to one or not, You will loose the last entity that lobbies for you, the working man. Or even the Small business man, because your consumer is the working man. You have been fed these falsehoods so long, you truly believe them. It's sad. You have to decide if you want to live in a world of Detroit or a world of North Dakota.

Unions and their demands were part of the problem, not all of it but certainly a part. The biggest part was and is poor city management. Hence, Democrat run. Check the records and you'll have to agree. You can not continue to spend and spend and spend with out consequence, and the Nation is about to find that out too.

I am curious as to your reaction/rebuttal to the points made in this link.

I am also curious if you would agree that unions, more often than not, create "rules" that impose inefficiencies on the company?

How do you feel about certain jobs needing to pay "union wage" even if they are not union? Why should a contractor not be allowed to under bid a union company, if he feels he can do it?

The Unions in Detroit destroyed themselves. Sad but true, it's a good thing every city didn't have all of those same unions or every major city would look just like Detroit does now!
