Neither side will get "everything" they want. It's called negotiation. Both sides need to sit down "like adults" at a table and negotiate to a compromise. The House has requested this daily. King O says NO. It's MY way or the highway. Just like a little kid. If I don't get MY way I'm taking MY ball and going home. Until KING O wakes up and gets in the game, the shutdown's ALL on him.

Admit it, Obama is in over his head with this job. He has no idea what he's doing. He wants ALL the AUTHORITY, but NONE of the RESPONSIBILITY that goes with this job. He is in it for the car, the plane, the big house, the multiple lavish vacations a year on our dime, while he pisses on the people who struggle and work hard to pay for it. He IS the WORST president in US history. We'll just have to put up with his BS for 3 more years and then we can start building our country back to what it should be. It's sad that it will take many years to rebuild what he has destroyed.

If you're not interested in the truth and just want to hear what you want to hear, then you'll probably want to stay away from FOX News.

I see you don't watch C SPAN or C SPAN 2. They show live and recorded video of both houses, live interviews with Representatives and Senators. It shows the actual hearings that news media twists to the right or left afterward. You know, the news your getting on FOX and MSNBC. Sure they lie, but you can see them squirm when they lie. Will Rogers, a famous political satirist, once said, "Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see." That was good advice. Here is an on line link. http://www.c-span.org/Live-Video/C-SPAN3/. You can get all the channels from that link.

All the news media only tell part truths and slant them.

If you remember History, the saying, :A house divided, can not stand", holds a lot of truth. That was Abraham Lincoln who as Obama was blamed for the Civil War. The fact was partisan politics had set the wheels in motion long before Lincoln became president. The inability to work together in Washington is what caused the war. Note, this war was about who got taxed the most, the slave issue was a byproduct about half way threw the war. AHC is about who pays the bill on health care. Are we going to allow our government to forget who they represent? Not some of the people but all of the people. They are saying we can't afford health care. A couple weeks ago we could afford to bomb Syria. I guess we can afford killing, just not saving our own. What we can't afford is to cause a world wide depression and that may happen on the 17th of this month if we default on our debt. I'm telling myself that will never happen, but I look back to the Civil War and realize stupidity has no bounds.

We have lost our Republic. Our government serves special interest groups and makes up lies to pacify the masses. It's still all about money.

The claim by Mudslinger was the House passed a bill that funded the ACA but removed the exceptions and exemptions. Blatantly not true.

The link you posted is a story about the House passing a bill that funds the government and delays Obamacare by another year. A clear tactic by the GOP to prevent people from experiencing the law in action and liking it, in favor of getting another year to campaign against it and fundraise off of it.

Make no mistake about it, the GOTea Party's greatest fear is the success and popularity of the law once it is fully implemented. Nothing worse than screaming for 4 years that something is going to be the death of the nation, scaring the crap out of seniors and claiming its going to cost billions in dollars and millions in jobs only for the Public to find out just how truly full of crap you are.

Thus, why I said this was ONE of the proposals. If you would read back through this and other threads about Obamacare, the delay for ALL has been discussed as well. Why are you for allowing Obama to delay implementation for who he sees fit (which is changing the "law of the land" as written), but not others? If it's so great, why is Obama delaying it????? Tell me t.nie.

I believe you will see that it will be the Liberals/Democrats "eating crow" when this is fully implemented. Not the republicans. Some democrats are already seeing the impending disaster and have said so.

Actually, all we are seeing is how spoiled children REACT when their bullying doesn't work. Obama has and continues to do exactly what he needs to do; keep telling the children in the House led by Boehner to quit rehashing old arguments that are already lost, pass the funding bill and lets move on.

These GOTea Party people keep claiming they represent the "American People" and act as if they are speaking for a majority. They aren't. Obama beat Romney by 5 million votes, Democrats garnered the majority of the popular vote in this nation for the Presidency, House and Senate. When you count the sum total of votes cast, the majority in this nation voted for Democrats, not Republicans. It is only by gerrymandering districts that Republicans are still in seats, because in certain districts, carefully manipulated and laid out to preserve Republican representatives, the GOTea party is preferred.

However, as the old rich white people in those districts die off, fewer and fewer will be Republican dominated and there will be a sea change in our government. It's coming because more Republican voters die every year than are being recruited. Simple fact.

Personally I hope this goes on and on and on until Boehner and the Republicans cry Uncle. If we default, if this turns into a national catastrophe, kiss the Republican party bye bye and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Sure, some of you on here are so entrenched in your hatred of Obama and the Dems you will continue to scream it's all their fault, no matter what the facts and circumstances point to, and no matter what will blame Dems and the President for whatever happens.

However, back to my earlier point, the majority of votes cast in this nation was for Obama and the Democrats, end of story, so no matter how hard you try to forget that fact or just to twist this situation around so the President and Democrats are the bad guys, the majority in this nation know the truth and won't blame anyone but the ridiculous GOTea Party for causing this disaster.

Why do you think Obama isn't going to negotiate? Because even he knows the GOTea Party is putting the gun to their own heads on this one. He isn't going to get hurt one bit if they pull the trigger.

Very true, If the law is put into practice and it's as bad as some say it is, It won't last long and it will swing a lot of votes to the republicans for mid term elections in 2014. It does make you wonder if this bill is as bad as they say or as good as they say. The clues in the rhetoric about this bill, tell me it's not as bad as they say, nor as good as the others say.

But it WASN'T a proposal to get rid of the exceptions and exemptions. All that bill would achieve was delaying the thing for a year. Buying the GOTea Party another year to argue about it and come up with some other way to get rid of it before people found out it was actually a good law for the common folk.

And I guarantee you Fox and right wing echo chamber will be screaming its terrible a year from now, five years from now or even ten if right wing propaganda makes it that far. No matter what, the party line in the right wing echo chamber is anything that comes from the Dems lips must be bad, period, and all the right wing hate spewing propaganda machine has to do is make up some ridiculous stories to prove it, or take a small piece of fact, misrepresent it, add some innuendo, anecdote, throw on some spin and "Voila! We have proven Obamacare is bad!"

Keep yelling your nonsense all you want. After months and months and years of crying "wolf!" at every turn, people stop listening.

I can tell you one thing no one is talking about right now that is a major problem with it, and that's the "sticker shock" when you see the premiums. I went on the Kaiser foundation site and ran a test of say someone making $15 an hour at work with no insurance, spouse making $7.50 an hour for a combined yearly income of roughly $46800.00 with one kid. Monthly premium was $299.00 a month for a silver plan with the government subsidy. I just thought that was going to rub a lot of people the wrong way, especially when there would still be out of pocket expenses and a deductible on it.

But me doing that just illustrates another point. I don't just listen to the news and "parrot" the talking points like the right wingers on here do (Freddy "Lite Inn" can't even manage a single original coherent thought, he just cuts and pastes entire pieces from right wing propaganda sites for his posts half the time..pathetic). I go out and do my own research and see for myself what I think of things.

And my thoughts on that were that it was a little pricey, and probably more than what many would want to pay, however on the other hand it at least was health insurance for someone with none, and if you have a serious condition or your spouse/child had a serious illness that required regular medical care, that was probably the best thing since sliced bread. So it depends on your personal situation. For someone with no health issues, it was an added expense. For someone with major health issues, it was probably a great deal, as compared to the alternative of being denied due to preexisting conditions or premiums way way higher than that because of your health issues.

I never said it WAS a proposal on exceptions and exemptions, but now that you mention it, what do you call the EXCEPTIONS/EXEMPTIONS and DELAYS Obama is giving? How do you justify those? You failed to answer my question before. Perhaps you could address that?

Tell me t.nie. Why should Obama be able to give any exemptions or delay implementation (that is LAW) to whomever he pleases?? Why would he want to?? If it's so great, why wouldn't EVERYONE want in on it?? PLEASE ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS FOR ME!

Just as the left wing will be screaming how great it is when the country is more of a disaster than it is now.

Obamacare is unsustainable and will implode in time. I just hope the country doesn't implode with it.

Ok, tell me what exceptions/exemptions are bad?

Congress and congressional staffers are exempted from it. Yes, makes perfect sense, they already have an employer based health care plan. Just like any other employer based plan, the employer pays part of the premium.

The way this came about was some Senator (I think it was Grassley) proposed to terminate their health coverage and make them buy it on the exchanges instead. As this would result in all congressional staffers getting a net pay cut, it was decided to treat them just the same way everyone else with a job gets treated--EXEMPT from having to purchase coverage on the health exchanges.

If you have a job and are enrolled in employer based health care, then YOU TOO will be EXEMPT from having to purchase health insurance on the exchanges. In fact, your employer will have to provide you with a notice that says you have health insurance. Wow. Sounds just dire and awful... An exemption from purchasing health insurance on the exchange because you already have it..... ooooooooo... scareeeeeeeeeeee......

All this does is illustrate what happens to people who keep their heads buried in the right wing echo chamber. Rarely will they do their own research to discover truth, and they will cling to whatever crumb of misinformation they are given and NEVER question if it's true or what the real story is behind it.

Like someone said, "ya just gotta believe it's true and it WILL be true for you...."
