BBQB, just for the record Cale has 7 more total victories (83) than arnhead (76) in Cup competition. Also Cale stopped running for championships and ran a limited schedule the rest of his career following his 3rd in a row while driving for Junior Johnson.

Thanks for that clarification cirf.........I should have ( but didn't)said dale won more championships.

But I actually didn't realize that the timmonsville terror had actually won more races in total.........there is my "learn something new every day "moment for today.

I'm clearly not on your level of racing history yet, thanks for spreading the wealth.....

So many what if's involved in racing. Especially Cup racing. You have Cale who gave up points racing literally to spend more time with his children allowing for the speculation as to how many Cups he and Junior would have won had they stayed together. Same way with Evernham and Gordo. They were virtually a winning machine and there were no signs of them slowing down in their winning ways.

Tim Richmond was headed for multiple championships. Kulwicki even more so. Davey Allison was on track to win some championships. How many Cups would David Pearson have had he run the full schedule for 20 season's straight driving for the Wood brothers. And the list goes on and on.

It's even fun to contemplate how many championships guys like Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt or Al Unser Sr. would have won if they'd have concentrated solely on NASCAR Grand National/Cup competition. With those 3 guys and Pearson racing the full schedule year after year would The King have 7 and 200?

If you look at Petty vs Pearson stats they are almost equal except for championships. Pearson entered 574 races won 105 of them Petty entered 1184 races won 200 so their win record isn't that far off.

Car control? David Pearson, Tim Richmond and Cale Yarborough come to mind as displaying the best car control with arnhead coming in somewhere slightly below those 3. David Pearson, The King, Jeff Gordon, Jimmy Johnson and maybe even Alan Kulwicki are considered to be the epitome of drivers who were/are the best at calculating in the seat with a race long perspective, something arnhead never really mastered. That's why all but Kulwicki have, or will have, substantially more victories. And, none of the aforementioned drivers had NASCAR in their hip pocket like ol' arnhead did.

It's also common knowledge that Childress' brother in law was a Cup tech inspector at the time ol' arnhead and RCR was doing most of their winning. Not sayin' just sayin'.
Here is common knowledge. You hate the guy. Here is more common knowledge. You spin so much you should be dizzy. Here is more of your type of facts. I cannot stand Gordon, and Nascar allowed Ray Evernham to work outside the box while they were using Gordon to build the sport. Who said this? Ray Evernham. So does that make Gordon not a great driver? Dale E. was a great driver too, end of discussion. But I am sure you will need to get your last word.

I had never heard that about Evernham saying that about NASCAR......no wonder they kicked him out of the club too!!!

Loose lips sink ships kind of a thing.

Ray actually said it a few years ago. He said things got to easy. It wasn't a shot at Nascar, but he just admitted that he used some tire tricks etc. I mean there was a period when Gordon was taking two at the last part of races and driving off into the sunset. Ray also said he was doing things to the cars that Nascar took their good natured time in telling him to stop. I look back and it was kind of all in fun. But I never did like Gordon, but that doesn't matter in the scheme of things. LOL

Oh my, we are terribly defensive, aren't we! Hehehehe!!

A hater, too! Ya' hate Gordo we all get it.

arnhead was a great driver? Maybe so, but the fact that he and RCR had NASCAR DEEPLY in their pockets leaves a little room to speculate, dont' ya' think?

You're sure reading a lot into what I'm saying. You will not find anywhere that I've said I hate anyone. What I do hate is that NASCAR had 2 sets of rules and 2 different degree's of punishment for breaking those rules depending on who they were and who they drove for. But you, on the other hand, freely admit to being a hater in the case of Gordo. For shame!

                  Spin? Really?!

Come up with solid, credible evidence that what I'm saying in regards to the relationship between NASCAR, RCR and arnhead is false and had no bearing whatsoever on enforcement and punishment.

Good point drano. The King and David finished 1-2 63 times, David won 33 The King won 30.

In 1973 Pearson competed in 18 races driving for the Wood Bros. He won 11 of them.

Pearson NEVER was unable to drive a racecar because of being injured in a racecar. He didn't drive into people to win races but he'd settle things in the garage area if need be. A young Tim Richmond found that our the hard way.

At Darlington doctors once wired Pearson up with a heart rate monitor to see how his pulse reacted to different situations on the racetrack. The technicians coordinated the monitor results with the video of the race. When David got into a close competitive situation during green flag segments on the track his heart rate actually WENT LOWER. The doctors concluded that he was very comfortable in what he was doing. As the story goes when the technicians made Pearson aware of this he just said "yea, I was havin' some fun". LOL!!

And can someone explain how "college boy" is an insult? Is it because slack jawed mouth breathers feel threatened by anyone with an education who might point out that screwing your sister is wrong? That low brow piece of trash Bubba Smith used to whine about "college boyz" whenever he was made to look a fool (in other words anytime he posted anything).

Heard on time at Darlington it was when Waltrip had just started it was a restart with just a few laps to go Waltrip pulled alongside Pearson, He said his knuckle's were white he was holding on the steering wheel so tight and he looked over at Pearson and he was lighting a cigarette and he said he knew he was in trouble.

You hate Earnhardt. Just not man enough to admit it. You see, this is what spinners do. You went to the school of Bill Clinton politics. OH< I didn't say that, it is what the meaning of is is. Just like when you spun that Stewart purposely ran over that kid. Oh I didn't say that. you are not fooling anybody paying attention. In the meantime, I do not care who you like or don't like, but you should step up if you are going to trash drivers. You lose this round sport. But go ahead and get your last word. "Oh I didn't say that". "Where did you see me say that"? How childish, yet hilarious

Speaking for just one of those two drivers, the one that you dislike, at least there were none of the controversies and cars being destroyed by Mr. Gordon who IS one of the cleanest drivers ever in NASCAR. But just exactly why do you dislike him so much?

Clayton you are right my friend Jeff Gordon hasn't torn up near as much equipment as a few others have although he has been known to offer a little payback when needed just ask ol Clint Bowyer lol... Gordon still has it in him to race I just think he has nothing left to prove he has done it all... As for controversy ... Jeff always tried to steer clear of the controversy in nascar.... He has been a good ambassador for the sport and has an eye for young talent as well.. I have been a huge Gordon fan for as long as I can remember and the one thing that he done that I disliked was hiring Jimmy Johnson lol..... Jus kidding Johnson's alright he just wins to much lol.... I think Jeff is gonna enjoy retirement because he will be able to spend more time with the Kiddo's and that Hot Ass wife of his.....

I sir have a 4 year degree somewhere in a drawer collecting dust. I do not feel like it was my greatest accomplishment and do not need to defend it. So let me rephrase so you can grasp it. Its still the same old 4m you scratch my back i scratch yours, just without the green dots. Now you have to post something to cover the homies backs. (whos back you scratching norm).

At any point all 5 of you could of quit acknowledging him but its like the song that never ends. I'm outtie on this subject seen enough to know that none of you worked in nascar or anywhere close so you dont know the truth merely speculation(on gordon, earnhardt or anyone else).
