NASCAR: Better with or without the Chase.

You could say that, but with all your grousing and panty wadding, the Chase is still here... its still the law of the NASCAR land and it now encompasses all three divisions.... because it did jump to that, that tells me you folks are in the minority... NASCAR does what it does for the money, the Chase must be working dollar wise or they wouldn't bring in the other two premier divisions... because, at the "end of the day" NASCAR is a business...

Yea, it's working all right. Half the people watch NASCAR today than watched it a dozen years ago. The tracks are tearing out or tarping over 10's of thousands of seats and still don't sell out.

I dropped my June Michigan tickets (8 very good seats) this year after having them since 1986 and they called me begging us to renew them. Never had that happen ever before where tickets are in demand. Usually if I don't buy them someone is anxious to snap them up but not in this case.

It's not clear as to how someone rationalizes this kind of drop in popularity into being a net plus but by all means, carry on. You're the only one around that defends all that is NASCAR stupid so we'll chalk it up to "someone has to carry the torch".

The same thing happened to Indy car when they screwed up. They couldn't even field a 33 car field at most tracks. The stands were what 1/2 to 3/4 empty. Who watches Indy car anymore. They can't even get a decent TV package because they have no viewers so, it happens. NASCAR will never be like it was back in the day and yes I believe they need to make dome changes to make the racing better until then they are going to keep losing fans but, why some feel the need to keep trashing it is beyond me.

Well, if you think its doing so bad then quit watching it... Kid, why do some feel the need to defend every stupid and detrimental gimmick and inconsistency NASCAR can throw out there. Is it because they intently listen to every agreement and phony praise thrown out there by the announcers and NASCAR related news anchors?

Anyone who can't see what has happened over the past dozen years and why it's all gone to he!! is deeply in denial (Lord I hate using that cliche'!).

The affection myself and many of my friends felt for NASCAR was real and palatable and it deeply saddens us to watch it go completely to he!! and become a punchline to some bad jokes.

Well, one good thing is the USAC National Sprint cars will be at Bubba Raceway Park over in Ocala, FL again tonight and we'll thoroughly enjoy being there for that.

We're sincerely wishing the best of luck to Christopher Bell and Rico Abreu in the truck race at DIS tonight!! Both of those guys are well deserving of their shot at this next rung on the racing ladder.

I could go either way on the chase. The one thing that really, really bothers me about Napcar. They don't run the laps their supposed to. They race 2/3rds of the race. And 1/3rd under caution. I say Bull Sh$t, fans pay good money to watch and don't get face value. JMHO

I watch all the races I can and my biggest concern is will the race I am watching be a good one? I like racing, dirt, asphalt and I take the good with the bad. LOL, not into drag racing though.

BTW the Mav Tv sprint car races are the best. Those races really televise well in my opinion.

Just look at the stir that surrounds Bryan Clauson being in the Indy 500. We go to the Hulman Classic at Terre Haute, The Hoosier Hundred at the state fairgrounds in Indy and The Little 500 up in Anderson every year during the days leading up to the Indy 500 and Clauson is a hot topic of discussion among most. The crowd at those races are talking extensively about Clauson every year that he's been qualified for the 500. Especially the year he one of Sarah Fisher's cars.

It's been discussed ad nauseam on a variety of message boards and no one has ever really come up with a logical conclusion other than foreigners bring money along with the owners perceived need for accomplished road racers.

The owners of the rear engine racecars appear to want drivers who have a rear engine racing background. Even A.J. Foyt, the consummate American racing icon, has leaned toward foreign drivers in his role as car owner.

It's a shame.

You talk about taking a nap.... Indy style cars are about as boring as you can get... ANY premier driver with any brains would go NASCAR vs indy style.... at least with NASCAR they can make a living...
