Well from one word twister to another, I'll take YOU referring to me as that totally complimentary.......because you are certainly no slouch at it either.....( you are running for office good at it)Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

it wasn't said to be a dck measuring contest on who works with whom on what....it was said to make you realize that your continued condescension is unnecessary.Originally posted by W2Racing09 View PostI don't know which $10k car that is running on a shoestring budget that can apparently drop $600-$900 at every race for tires they can only use once you are involved with -- but thanks for being involved with the sport!
Also, you are certainly not the only one here who is involved on that side of it. I know there a bunch of people on this forum (including myself) who regularly work on teams both at the track and at the shop.
Thanks,
Jeff.
I'm completely familiar with how small budget teams operate and what their struggles are.....the guys we help are exactly the guys your talking about.
Sometimes when you post , you act like you are the only guy that's ever been to a racetrack and that the rest of us are just bleacher bums.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Come on Boys If I said it once (and I did) I will say it agen... Kiss and make up.. I think you both are right on most of it, just saying it not the same way.. But you kind of mean the same thing.. It does make for good reading,, just dont call each other names...Having some people in the same room but look at it not the same way is how it gets fixed in the end...I think the racing in your two home town look at it One way not the same way, and it because of were you live far a part has a lot to do with that..I know people in Iowa look at it way defent then I do ILL...Originally posted by Barbecueboy View PostWell from one word twister to another, I'll take YOU referring to me as that totally complimentary.......because you are certainly no slouch at it either.....( you are running for office good at it)

I don't fail to see any of that, what I fail to see is your argument that if a really good local guy wants to run with the major series when they roll in that he can't afford the tires to do so the one or two times they come to his track during the year.Originally posted by W2Racing09 View PostWhat the hell does it matter if they make the show? Its like you think that the tracks are thrilled when 24 cars show up (news flash: in most places in the country said tour will not be invited back after a car count like that for a $10k/$8k to win race). This sport needs drivers who are running in the LCQ just as much as it needs drivers running in the A Main. If you fail to see that then it explains your stance on just about every issue on here.
Thanks,
Jeff.
To hear you say it , it's like all the local guys will be following the woo and being forced to buy 1000 dollars worth of tires a week
Realistically how many return visits to a track or a region do the two major tours go to for this discussion to even continue.......if a local guy that owns one of these 45 k xr1 setups that you say you see all the time up there( even in the llm division I believe you said) can't afford to race the one time they come to his region because he has to buy new tires instead of buying prep and all that comes with it to run his used tires, then no......he has no business being out there with them.
We can go on and on if you like , but the facts are ( if you are sticking with your argument of knocking the little guy out) is that you are talking the rare exception instead of the overwhelming majority.
The good local guy will find a way.
The good regional guys( Stovall, covert,Roberts, franklin, fergy etc.) already have a way.
The touring guys already have a way.
The guys your talking about in the 2007 rockets ........will never find a way to do it consistently nor are they even trying to......and as much as I love guys like Mike hammerlee, even he will tell you he knows his budgetary limits and will pick and choose what he can afford.
It would be great if everybody that wanted to race slm could, but this isn't just a participation sport where everybody gets a trophy and there is no DLM version of obamacare currently in place.......so no everybody isn't equal in dirt racing, it's the reason we have so many classes of them........to give the guys you're talking about a place to run that they can afford.
I understand your point, don't at all agree with most of it.....that's all.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Well now you are just being ridiculous.........haven't you seen all of these crew and fans falling out all over the place from this health crisis from all the guys that currently prep and race on prepped tires?Originally posted by dirtdobber45 View PostIt should be open tire rule and be done with it...case closed!!!
I guess if they did open it up though, it would allow the 10 % that don't do it now into the club with the other 90% that do?......and then everybody would be even Steven?Where is the move over flag when you need it?????
