It's not that hard to understand. He and Moran got into an altercation and put on probation. He's not been found on illegal tires this year that I know of. The world 100 is a UMP race not a WOO race, and the fact that 1 company owns both is irrelevant. If tires had been found wrong in a WOO event it would be a whole different story. You get mad at him, but all he was did was find a loophole in the system. Maybe going forward they change the rules to keep this from happening but they punished him to the extent of THEIR OWN RULES....half of you people act high and mighty, but this is what has made racing, racing. The ability to work in the grey area and trying to use rules to your advantage is what makes the sport IMO.....most of you frown on this but applaud KR when he engineers a part that makes his car twice as fast as the competition. It's all the same to me and makes everybody work harder to catch up.

Juicing is no gray area. There is no loophole. The one company issue is not irrelevant because the penalty is enforced for both sanctions. Rumley didn't cheat. PERIOD

The DOD article said it failed lab testing. Either it was chemically altered, or the identifying labels were altered to pass a different tire off as a legal one.

We get mad at him for finding a loophole? Are you kidding? We get mad at him because he cheats and dopes tires repeatedly, and apparently suffers no consequence. Cheating tires is illegal anyway you cut it. This is no gray area. There is no loophole here. I can't believe people think this way. Also, Kevin Rumley's device was not illegal in any sense of the word when he developed it. Because there were no rules against it. So, your comparison here is irrelevant. Doping tires is cheating, developing new part is that is 100% within the framework of the current rules is engineering.

I did not say juicing was a grey area. I said he found a loophole in the fact he could get caught with juiced tires at a UMP race and it not affect his WOO points. Just because there is a penalty enforced for both series does not mean the penalties cross series. You think he should be punished by Lucas Oil as well? That's effectively what you're arguing.....to the Rumley deal. I applaud him for being inventive. I think his design was awesome and kudos to him for all the races it won. That's my point that's what makes racing great. The grey area was that.... "any and all new designs or modifications to an existing suspension and/or suspension component must be communicated to and approved by the series director before being used in competition."......you honestly think this happened??

Madden said on his facebook page that he didn't cheat, He has offered to take a polygraph test to clear his name!! I find the polygraph comment very comical!

If I remember correctly that is the same thing he said after he got busted for cheating tires at Phenix City a few years ago as well.

Since when did WRG decide that tire doping wasn't a big deal and only warrants 30 day suspension? I think this is the first time. SMH

You are correct Dirtfan, Madden also made the comment this time, Why would I cheat when the race was not a top paying event causing me to lose out his points in WOO and loosing his sponsors! I like Madden, He can flat out wheel a late model, But this is not his first rodeo, But if you go to his facebook page he makes it sound as if it's his first time ever caught cheating!

Funnier than the tire rule itself?
Where is the move over flag when you need it?????
