Is it me or is the hype for both the Dirt Million and Gateway Nationals almost non-existent this year? It seems as if the promoter is too busy worrying what Bloomquist is doing since he now works with/for him. On the other hand I hope he has not gotten lazy and thinks both events are already solidified and he doesnt need to do any more with them.
Dirt Million and Gateway lack of interest?

My opinion, it’s two crappy tracks. One race is about the fans $ and the other is something to do in the winter. I think both have their place, but Mansfield needs to show it can put on a good race and the Dome is what it is. But I do agree on the lack of hype, seems like the only one I ever hear plugging it is Jimmy Owens

Last year’s purse was around $406k.Originally posted by zyoung25 View PostDoes anyone remember what the total for whole million event last year? I see it's at around 270k now.
It doesn't seem like there is near as much talk this year about it though. Will Rogers never met Donald Trump!

They just opened drivers registration last week. This thing is still almost 5 months, give time for the gateway thing to build some steam.
As far as the dirt million goes, it’s turning into a flop. I can’t imagine that race making to a 3rd year.

There has been a major downturn in the amount of promotion in all of Cody's ventures.. Mansfield as a whole, the Dirt Late Model Big One (that everyone else calls by a name that starts with a M that I refuse to give the acknowledgement as) and the Dome.
It offers a little concern on all fronts. But the entry forms for the Late Models for the Dome are now up; so hopefully all will go well.
Without major sponsorship I always thought the Big One would suffer in year two as far as how big the purse could be. Should have been a one year deal and thought of a new hook for year two of what ever big late model race. It is playing off a name for attention that it will never be. (But it worked) Time to abandon the old hook and come up with a new one; and time for him to get back to promoting his ventures."The Wise One"

Found the below info from an older thread around this time last year.
I never bought into the format and glad it appears to be losing steam. Taking doors, helmets, shoes, steering wheels from drivers to auction off to support the purse last year was a joke.
Payout Structure: (total purse as of 7-19-18 $342,178.00)
1st: 50% = 171,089.00
2nd: 10% = 34,217.80
3rd: 5% = 17,108.90
4th: 3% = 10,265.34
5th: 2% = 6,843.56
