Dirt Million and Gateway lack of interest?

Well after attending this years sprint car championship I can say after what I saw the track surface was still a joke. There were obviously little to no rocks flying but the dirt just isn't good still. Just looks like top soil and a small amount of clay. The river silt track down at Portsmouth is way better than whatever Mansfield has.

Flat tracks are a joke, in my opinion. Give me the high banks any day.

Rather boring. JMO.

I hope I'm wrong on this, but I think this Dirt Million thing could be hanging by a thread.

Cody really needs this thing to highly impress in year 2.
Let's face it, he isn't very fan friendly.
He is good at one thing. Coming up with "gimmick" names that draw curious spectators.
Personally, I need more than that to want to make an annual trip to a racetrack.
Doesn't sound like the new dirt has helped so far.

Lived in Mansfield for 39 years until 4 years ago. Saw the demise of the original dirt track as well as the resurrection and demise as an asphalt track. I agree with Madcat above that if Cody doesn’t make it as the promoter this track will disappear forever. Mr. Milliron will sell what he can, recycle what can be recycled and level it to the ground. He didn’t accumulate all of his wealth by backing losing propositions.

Think about it, because of the weather, Mansfield has run only one race all season.....Can't make any money if the track isn't open for business!!!!

In all fairness...they could have gotten the Thursday night sprint show in, and they could have run Saturday's sprint show on Sunday. He's getting a reputation now for pulling plugs too early and not trying to get shows in. That doesn't help his cause.

He had the opportunity to reshape the track and haul in some of that nice black dirt from the midwest. He didn't do those things. Actually he should just build a replica of Fairbury. That would be hugley successful in this area where there just aren't very many good tracks.

I agree I didn't understand why they didn't run it on Sunday not a bad location for sprints but a terrible location for late models.i went to woo show in Nashville sold out 20 thousand strong Saturday night.

Would be sad to see dirt lates and sprints lose two big paying events for next year.
