The two Illinois shotgun weekends this year are November 22, 23 & 24 and December 5, 6, 7 & 8. The muzzleloader season is December 13, 14 & 15. The bow season runs continuously from October 1, 2019 thru January 19, 2020.Originally posted by turnleftandgasit View PostI don't personally hunt, I just know that when they announced the date, many people instantly started talking about it being 2nd season. I believe the shotguns only get 2 weekends.
There appears to be no deer hunting conflicts with the dome races.Last edited by CIRF; 07-30-2019, 09:55 AM.

While i too think it won't last unless they improve on some things. The name doesn't suit it anymore but the system works. This was easily one of if not the highest paying race thru the whole field. How is that not a good thing. One of our locals made it in through the fan count deal and just rode around and kept his nose clean. I don't remember exactly where he finished but it was definitely in the lower half and he made something like 5600$. I know their were some problems getting hit in the stands and that definitely needed address. We were there and had a great time and were going back this year

I hadn't even thought about Mansfield until it was brought up.
What these promoters never do today is contact the fams who attend their races. While pretty old school, a newsletter, brochure or a discount pack sent to those who attended last year would do a whole lot to pirking up the interest in the event.
You can get that info easy enough...targeted ads on FB, 4M or any sanctioning body web page. Or do it via mail...do a giveaway this year that is good enough to get the fans to give their name and address.

3 year with purchase option. I’ve stated many times Mansfield has one of the best facilities, but these things take time to get the kinks ironed out. No one just reopens a track that sat for years and has everything in place.Originally posted by foxfire2dirtracing View PostOhio Mike
I was thinking Cody had a 5 year lease with an option to purchase??
If Mansfield fails or continues to have weather issues this year, I would find it hard to believe it will ever open again, regardless of the surface.
Fwiw the dirt has been screened with new dirt added as well. That I know to be facts. Last year was scary and honestly I am amazed no authorities shut the place down.
The feature was great though and I can’t wait to be back home for 3 solid days.
I wish Cody the best.

Flat tracks are a joke, in my opinion. Give me the high banks any day.Originally posted by #FALSuperman View PostWent the first year, and I just don't like watching super late models on a 1/5 mile track that is flat as a pancake. To each their own..
I know that's not really part of the conversation, just throwing it out there.
