R.I.P. Scott Bloomquist
This one just hits and hurts differently. Very sad day for dirt racing. The sport has lost one of the absolute very best the sport has ever seen. This is heartbreaking for the sport as a whole. The man led are sport for a long time with his charisma, hard work, and dedication to it. He helped bring the sport to the mainstream racing media. There is no other way to explain the sadness that racing world in the U.S. will feel by this immense loss. This is a tough loss for fellow racers, fans, tracks and other personal in the industry.

I know it's been posted all over the internet today. Earlier today and many of you have already seen and heard the news of Scott Bloomquist passing earlier today but as we all go to sleep tonight say a prayer his daughter Ariel, along with his mom, & dad.
Sitting here at Kankakee Speedway this evening to get my mind off things and it gives me time to reflect on how fast someone can be taken from you.
Be thankful for your loved one who are still with you and remember those who have passed on.
I don’t know about you guys but this one just feels and hurts differently. When I found out I absolutely shed some tears at work this morning.
Be Thankful for what you have. It could be taken from you in the blink of an eye.

Hope to see a dirt track have a Scott Bloomquist memorial race?
This man meant too much to are sport to not have a race in his honor.

This is a horrible tragedy. I had an awful feeling he was not long for this world. People can argue that Moyer was the better driver, but Scott was the G.O.A.T. No question. The sport hasn't been the same since his motorcycle accident and now it will never be the same again.

I said many times, I loved to boo him during driver intros, but I loved cheering him in victory lane even more. Scott was the best villain ever and our greatest hero. RIP Scott. There will never be another GOAT.

Every sport has heros and villains, the dirt racing world had a guy who played both, his name was Scott Bloomquist. I first saw him race at a 1993 UMP Summer Nationals event at our weekly track in Sauk Centre (MN), and I was a fan ever since. He built his own racecars and fabricated parts for them in a sport where most everyone else buys them. He was an icon, arrogant, successful, mysterious, controversial, fast on the track, and did everything his way and to the beat of his own drum. Like all villains…..you either loved him or hated him, but everyone respected his race craft and what he could do behind the wheel of a race car. Yesterday was sad and shocking. Im glad I was able to see him run his last race 2 weeks ago at Cedar Lake Speedway. RIP to The Voodoo Child…Black Sunshine…The Dirt Track Dominator…The GOAT….My favorite race car driver………from Mooresburg, TN…Scott Bloomquist. 🏁👽☠️

This 1 definitely hurts. Almost like a distant family member that you only met a few times, but always looked forward to when you'd see them. I met him for the 1st time at Pennsboro when I was a kid and felt like I had met Earnhardt or Elvis, or a combination of the 2. He was nice as could be and signed a few things for me that I still have today. Even after all the drama around him and finding new drivers to pull for, I'd still always root for him and was hoping to see him pull off another big win.

When I'm triggered to think of Bloomer, my first recollection will be him riding around the Beckley pits in the 90's on a Honda 3 wheeler with his dog (Buddy??) in a box on the handlebars. Typical Scott, no one had a 3 wheeler anymore and the dog was a very well cared for "mutt" (sorry, I know the PC term is rescue dog, but not today). Despite being one of Racing's showmen, he just didn't give a chit what any body thought!~

To the world of dirt late models, he was like Babe Ruth, John Wayne, and Elvis Presley all rolled into one. And everyone had an opinion of him, whether they loved him or love to hate him. As such I'm sure he was called many names both positive and negative, but one thing no one ever called him was boring!

A simple "Scott Bloomquist Memorial Race" just doesn't seem fitting if held at any other track other than Eldora. The biggest, most well-known name in dirt racing must be paired with the most popular track, one that had become synonymous with Bloomer over the years for not just the wins, but other "entertaining" exploits as well. Could his name somehow be added on to the Dream, the race he was most dominant at? Something like the "Scott Bloomquist Memorial Dream" or some other play on those words? IMO that would be the most appropriate race to honor Scott's legacy.
