Nobody is going to fly or drive that little all metal plane into a old wood barn and think that would be terminal, the plane couldnt even go over 60 mph I think I saw.

Gas tank is right in front of the seat. He knew what he was doing. Can't say I blame him. Back pain can be brutal.Originally posted by stock car driver View PostNobody is going to fly or drive that little all metal plane into a old wood barn and think that would be terminal, the plane couldnt even go over 60 mph I think I saw.

Without a note I'll never believe what some are suggesting, that was just not in his character. Could've just as easy been a medical emergency while flying around the lake looking for fish, as he often did. Maybe sudden chest pain and he just wasn't able to get it landed before losing consciousness. I'm not a pilot and I don't play one on TV, but if I were gonna try to commit suicide by plane crash, which seems a bit odd in general, I think I would try to fly as high as I possibly could, without oxygen or a pressurized cabin, then turn the plane straight down and dive straight into the ground. This would give you maximum velocity and impact and ensure you accomplished your goal. This would make a lot more sense than crashing or taxiing on the ground into an old barn. That's the kind of thing youd see in a movie but wouldn't make sense in real life. I think most people would want the end to be quick and from the impact, not from burning to death. Remember the world trade center on 9/11? Remember the people jumping? They'd rather jump than burn.Originally posted by stock car driver View PostNobody is going to fly or drive that little all metal plane into a old wood barn and think that would be terminal, the plane couldnt even go over 60 mph I think I saw.
My thought are maybe he had a problem shortly after take off, like maybe a fire in the cabin from a fuel leak. If something like that happened your best chance might be to try to get the plane back down as quickly as possible and get it stooped so he could get out. But smoke, heat, and flames would complicate that and make it difficult.

Never seen Juan have this strong an opinion. Wait for the part where he shows you the cabin of his identical plane. No seat belts originally.

He was asked for his thoughts, he gave his thoughts. It's pretty simple, if you don't want to know a man's thoughts, don't ask him for his thoughts. It's not his fault society only wants positive thoughts and smoke blown up their azz! Dude knew Scott better than any of the fans did and prolly had a reason for thinking/saying what he did. He did not say that IS what happened, he said that was one of his first thoughts. You obviously heard this on a show that was put together with the purpose of other people sharing what they thought and how they felt at the time they found out.Originally posted by riddle28 View Post
yep never been a fan. Even if you thought that, dont say it first thing the day of
Kenny Wallace said that Scott had told him he wanted to make his exit from the sport "like a badazz"...... it's not a secret that Scott has been going through the worst times of his life the last several years. People who knew him personally have said he was a better pilot than he was a race car driver. It's human nature to put those things together to draw a conclusion, even if that conclusion is wrong.

It's been going around that there are folks who did receive a good bye. That plane does 85. Plenty fast enough to hit a solid post of an old barn and die from impact, with no helmet on. I've been told some other details that would also make it an incredible coincidence. Then there's the details of the incident. He'd have to screw up bad to ever even be aimed in the direction of that barn. Then he hit it perfectly square?Originally posted by stock car driver View Post

There was a pretty significant amount of fire in the c0ckpit...Originally posted by kidrock View PostOne of three things happened. He either had a medical emergency, the plane had mechanical issues he couldn't overcome or he committed suicide.
