I have to agree that Young Richards does get a lot of special attention. Maybe that's because DADDY is helping support the series. But my biggest complaint about their format is that stupid draw after the heat races. A driver can have fast time, win his heat and then end up starting 8th in the feature while some other guy gets a good draw and goes from what should be a 8th place start to being on the pole. Now that's just a way to insure the TOURNING guys get a better chance to win. I am a believer of how you qualify and finish your heat should be how you start the feature. If they want to play favorites why not just have the TOURING guys start up front and let the rest fall behind and save the trouble of qualifying and heat races. JMO

Do they ever besides Charlotte have the Sprints/LM at the same event?? That would be cool to go to a WoO show and have them both be there

That's actually a great idea.........obviously not a who fan but I am a racing fan.....and that kinda trumps everything.

I bet that would be a good show if they both ( Dlm,sprint)rolled into town together each weekend.

I think they should run it like afc/nfc (Lucas/woo) and then run a series of races at the end like playoffs and then super bowl them up for the finale to see who the best really is.

          Pfffft.......like that's gonna happen!

Not that I know of, but I do get to see a WoO lm "crown jewel" and WoO sprint "crown jewel" at the same track about a month apart at Lernerville.

MidTnDirtfan, I agree completely. Seems like overkill to me having time trials, heats and a draw.

In a perfect DLM racing world, the WoO would stay north, and the Lucas series would stay south, and they could all meet up at all the "crown jewels".

                  Actually it's 10.

The WoO point fund is great until you look at what guys are spending to travel around the country.

Guys seem to drawn to Lucas because of TV exposure. Which seems to trump the WoO point fund in most cases.

Imagine Lucas TV exposure with WoO point fund money. Then you could have a top tier series that nothing could touch.

The Lucas tour has just as much travel. I don't get the whole WoO travel is so ridiculous. The WoO schedule used to be way nastier than it is now.

Yes.... The WoO guys went to Wyoming and the Dakotas in the past. This year they don't.

That's the only real difference I see.

Agree. In the past I've voiced my displeasure with the inverts and although I don't see it as favoritism I haven't ever heard any good reason for them either.

DLM racing doesn't need gimmicks to produce exciting racing. Keep the playing field level and may the best man win.

Inverts are not a gimmick. It can produce better racing for the fans. Who wants to go and watch a race where the finish is the same as the sarting line up or very little passing.

Back in the day inverts were the norm

I know its not Lucas or WoO, but we have ASCS SOD VS. NRA invaders 360 Sprint car challenge every year. Usually draws about 40 cars. They put up some extra money. The heat races have a good mixture of the two groups. The feature can get pretty intense. Them guys go at it hard. Draws a really good crowd also.

Well if the track is prepped well there will be passing and if it's not there won't be any passing anyway. Saying it will produce better racing for the fan is saying the racing isn't good enough on it's own to keep fans interested. What next? One race to determine the season champ? Bogus debris cautions to close up the field to make the "racing better" and keep a series regular on the lead lap? Those are gimmicks. No disrespect, but inverts are gimmicks too....whether they did it in 1960, 1970 or 2015.
