So was the assassination of Melissa Hortman.

Outside of her area, no one knew who that was. To equate that to the death of a national figure whose death appears to have been spurred on in part by vitriol coming from the highest political figures on the left seems a bit intellectually dishonest.

There was no "get Hortman" effort going on at a national level. Her death is no less tragic or sad than Kirk's but it is not equivalent in terms of what it signifies, how it has been responded to, etc.

A constitutional federal republic is the most accurate way to describe our government.

We are still a democratic country. Democracy is a value. It means rule by the people.
