To bad for you that was not the case but, again just blaming one party over the other is not going to get us anywhere. They both were at fault here. The Repubs for coming up with the bills and Clinton for not veto the bills.

The legislation forced banks to give loans to people that could not afford the loans and of course, those that made the loans also received commissions on those loans even though they knew they were bad loans. They were under regulation from the Democratic sponsored bill to make the loans whether they liked it or not. This is what is called the Sub Prime lending mortgages. There were three different loans. One set of loans adjusted their rates after two years (in 2007). The next bunch of loans adjusted after three years (in 2008) and the third group of loans adjusted after 5 years (in 2010). All of the adjustable rates went so high that most if not all of the people in these homes were completely under water with the new adjustable rates. Thank you Barney Frank and Chris Dodd for collapsing the economy.

        Here is the proof:

Today that "problem" of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac has been like a serious wound that can not be stopped from bleeding like the flood waters of the great Mississippi river. Presently at 160 billion dollars and wanting billions more it is expected that if it continues as it is it will go to 1 trillion dollars.

        WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!

And Bush never veto the bill. Why not?

There was no bill to veto. The President of the United States does not or at least prior to this President have control over everything to the point that he would have been able to do something about this debacle. If you had watched the videos you would have heard the discussions were all in regards to Republicans wanting more regulations put upon Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to stop what was coming while the Democrats said there was nothing wrong.

In 2000, because of a re-assessment of the housing market by HUD, anti-predatory lending rules were put into place that disallowed risky, high-cost loans from being credited toward affordable housing goals. In 2004, these rules were dropped and high-risk loans were again counted toward affordable housing goals. The House of Representatives committee on which Frank and Dodd served had control over the regulations involving Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were under the regulatory powers of Congress. There was absolutely NOTHING that Bush could do about what was going on with Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and therefore he could not have stopped the great recession that was caused by Barnie Frank and Chris Dodd. Yet today the great lie continues to be that the reason for what happened was all Bush's fault.

As a member of psychological warfare in Vietnam one of the main issues that I had to do was to overcome the propaganda of the North Vietnamese Army and the Viet Cong. They used misinformation and disinformation to control the thought processes of the people just like the Democrats and the lame stream media have done to the American people for many years now. Sadly, it has probably gone too far to ever straighten out the truth in this country.
I am sick and tired of people who say that if you debate and you disagree with this administration somehow you’re not patriotic. We should stand up and say we are Americans and we have a right to debate and disagree with any administration.

Ok so, again if there was no bill why did the banks give out these loans knowing these people could not afford these loans.

Something else that is funny the Republicans wanting more Regulations on Fannie and Freddie but, want less regulations on the banks now. Man am I confused.

With the opening up of risky loans, as I have said or presented in both of the last two post, the Congressional committee with Frank and Dodd leading the way forced banks to make these loans available through regulations. That is why the banks have gotten to the point that it is so difficult for them to break loose with any of their funds. The money is still extremely tight because of what happened. The last phase of this where the adjustable rates went up in 2010 are still being felt as over a million new foreclosures took place. Banks have tons of properties they can not unload.

Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae are bleeding money at about 6-8 billion dollars every six months. They are also insisting on multimillion dollar bonuses while they are asking for 6-8 billion dollars more. Something need to be done to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and anyone that thinks what is going on there does not understand reality. The banks have been forced by the Democratic house committee into regulations that have stifled the banks and have them holding on to what dollars they have because of all the chaos that the Sub-Prime mortgage lending catastrophe. The Republicans want to see some degree of a return to stability and reason in the banking industry. This is not too hard to follow if you want to look at what the truth is.

Maybe the banks knew bailouts would come their way? Remember, things can be accomplished behind closed doors in secret, as we are finding out about more all the time.

Man that sounds mess up and totally wrong in every sense. I still just can't figure out how they can make the banks loan money to people that just could not afford those loans. They should have been stopped.

Well it looks like that proves we need good regulations that work and are enforced and not less regulations.

No! It proves that some people make good decisions and some people make poor decisions and some of those people that make poor decisions would rather stand behind them and not admit they are wrong. The regulations the Democrats passed regarding Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac were very bad and they continued to back them. The Republicans wanted to see less regulation of the banks that the Democrats had put in place to back the Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac loans so that the banks would feel safer in their activities.

Now, take a look at what is going on with the loaning of hundreds of millions of dollars to green energy firms that go belly up when the reports were saying all along that they were bad investments. More Democratic waste.

What about all the "Occupier" complaints? They are down on Wall Street, right? Well, let's look at what the Treasury and the Fed have been doing for over a year the the Quantitative Easement plan. There has already been two six month long periods of quantitative easement where the Fed lowered interest rates as low as they could go in order to prop up Wall Street. Nothing has been done to fix much of what happened on Wall Street during the collapse of 2008-9 other than stabilize the market. That is being done with QE1, QE2 and now QE3. The Fed has already announced that they will keep those rates at their lowest for two more years. This caused a lot of concern in the business and investment world because it basically announced to the world that the government does not expect any change in the economic outlook for at least another two years. The problem with the Quantitative easements is that they have to be paid for. Therefore the Fed must rob Peter to pay Paul. Every six months the Fed and the Treasury print up and release into the economy another $620 billion dollars in currency. This stabilizes the stock market but causes the consumer prices to continue to climb. It also continues to devalue the dollar. Now, who is favoring the stock market(1%) over the 99%? Once again it is the Democrats.

If the government takes over the internet too then you will not have to worry about defending them anymore. Game over!

The measure targeted FCC rules designed to keep Internet service providers from prioritizing Web traffic. The bill was passed by the House in April, but was rejected along party lines by the Senate today.

If Obama and the FCC want net neutrality then you better find a clear and undistorted definition of what it means exactly, Jody. But at this time all of the rules and regs have not been finished for some reason. Hmmmm?
