I thought about moving out of Illinois when I retired, back to Iowa. Overall the taxes was more expensive.

One of the reasons I am leaving Illinois is the high taxes on business. I'm not sure about Iowa but it's cheaper to live and work in Missouri. The main reason I am leaving is because of the town I live in is washing up. Businesses are failing or leaving. People that matter are leaving in droves leaving mostly parasites and drug addicts. I am neither so this place is no longer for me. I bought a cabin tucked back in the woods that will suit me fine. My kid is off in college so it's just me and the misses.

Not only did I expect this, I also believe this should be their appropriate response. Hopefully another network will pick up the series. Since A&E doesn't want to continue maybe they will release them and they can pick up where they left off.

Chances are there are a lot of lawyers studying contracts at this very moment trying to see what kind of loopholes the Robertsons can exploit to get out of their deal with A&E, or at the very least keep themselves on the air somehow, somewhere. I bet there are some non-compete provisions in the contract too.

They should just make their own channel on youtube and market it all themselves. No editorial restrictions, no one telling them what they can't say or do. There's certainly a market for them. I'm done with it, used to watch it back when it seemed more spontaneous and less contrived, but now everywhere you go is DD merch and you can see these guys are just all about the money and endorsements and pushing their products every which way they can.

The one thing I will say about this is if you really want to learn what someone is all about, make them famous. Fame has a way of exposing you for who you really are.

A&E Over stepped the extremist on both sides have taken the political correct bull crap to new heights. I quit watching the show months ago due to it being scripted now and basically just a sitcom. They now make 400 million in shirts and hats way more than the duck calls ever could.
I personal think they loved him when he preached and sighted the bible so they had to know he was like most of us anti gay. it's wrong no matter how hard they say it's natural and us tv personalities to tell us we are the ones that are wrong never once have I seen a gay horse or dog.

I def agree with you. I can only imagine the frantic searching for a way out of the current contract. I am not so sure they are so set on staying on the air. This has been a huge smear on that tight nit family and I am not convinced they want to keep going with it. I personally hope they choose to keep going only somewhere else.

I can understand your distaste for the "whoreing" out of the brand. It seems you can't turn around anymore without seeing DD merchandise. The way I see it is I would much rather have little kids wearing a DD shirt than a Miley Cyrus or Kanye West T shirt. I like the show because in a day in age that morals and values are somewhat forgotten, they were not afraid to show it. Much better than some skinny chick twerking on stage in my opinion. I have said it before and I will say it again. I am not a religious person. Doesn't mean I don't stand up for good values and morals.

You are as clueless as ever. Just what has fame "exposed" about them?? If fame has changed anybody the LEAST, it's the DD family. They have said it in several interviews.....if their fame is gone tomorrow, they are fine with that.

I know it's foreign to you t.nie, but they are living the way God intended. They rely SOLELY on God and His provision for their lives. Phil said it himself. The point is, is that they have a double standard, giving gays etc. credibility, yet turn around and suppress Christian values by firing those who would speak their opinions.

People also have the freedom of choice to quit watching their Socialistic politically left wing correct station and probably will.

If I had a choice of cutting off funding to A & E without cancelling a whole bunch of programming I sure would. Why should Satellite and Cable service providers be allowed to divide up the paying customers income and give it to channels like A & E who do not represent the viewers beliefs and who push their liberal agenda on it's viewers instead. This goes for many channels doing the same thing.
