I agree, he and everyone else has the right to speak their mind but, sometimes what you say might have consequences but, I agree they asked the question and he told them exactly what he thought. kudos to Phil.

"Women with women, men with men, they committed indecent acts with one another, and they received in themselves the due penalty for their perversions," he continued. "They're full of murder, envy, strife, hatred. They are insolent, arrogant, God-haters. They are heartless, they are faithless, they are senseless, they are ruthless. They invent ways of doing evil. That's what you have 235 years, roughly, after your forefathers founded the country. So what are you gonna do Pennsylvania? Just run with them? You're going to die. Don't forget that."

          The Gospel of Christ:

John 3:16 (KJV) "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

Notice the REAL Gospel doesn't say anything about sexual preferences, past behaviors, etc. Just that you believe. Your past doesn't matter. Your sexual preference doesn't matter. Your previous adultery doesn't matter. Being a murderer doesn't matter. Many of the greatest men of God in the Bible were ALL of those things in their lives before Christ and some even after. What would Phil think of David? Of Paul? Seriously, if we listen to the Gospel of Phil, the Book of Duck Chapter 1, they are all going to hell. That's not what the Bible teaches. At all.

          Then there's:

          Matthew 22:36-40
          New International Version (NIV)

36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

Hmm.... Can you just feel the "love" coming from Phil Robertson when he spews his fire and brimstone, "YOU"RE ALL GOING TO HELL!!!" at everyone else? Go look in a mirror Phil. You are not like Christ in any way at all.

And then there's this, which kind of sums this whole folly up pretty well for me:

Titus 3:10-11 (NIV) Warn a divisive person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.

Anyone else not see Phil Robertson is causing great division and strife in the world? His words cut like a knife and all we see is "you're either with Phil and on the side of Right or you're NOT!"

Seems like it's all right there in the Bible for him to read. He just chooses to use his religion as a baseball bat to beat others with. Christians like him just push people away from the truth, not bring people toward it.

          Fire away.
Quoting the Bible and not understanding it is simply what too many people do. Christ did die for everyone, no doubt. But the Bible is very clear on matters of Homo behavior. It is something that God abhors. Check Romans Chapter One for starters. While you are quoting scripture, maybe add this one. As for Phil, everyone connected to the Duck programming knew exactly what they were getting. BTW this list of sins that will condemn the unrepentant absolutely includes sodomy.

Christians are supposed to, by example and in words and deeds, show other people the Love of God and Christ and the Holy Spirit in them. All Robertson has done is make a lot of people think Christians are the ultimate hypocrites, saying Love your neighbor in one breath and then telling another crowd everything they hate about some of the people God created and condemning them to hell.

WOW I never realized you were that under-educated in the Bible....then again as a liberal there is so much you don't know....

If I had a choice of cutting off funding to A & E without cancelling a whole bunch of programming I sure would. Why should Satellite and Cable service providers be allowed to divide up the paying customers income and give it to channels like A & E who do not represent the viewers beliefs and who push their liberal agenda on it's viewers instead. This goes for many channels doing the same thing.
so is that the long way of saying nobodys free speech right were violated?

Louis Farrakhan calls for Gays to be beheaded in accordance with Islamic teaching. Obama Refers to him as a hero: Liberals laud him for his courage. ? if you don't see what is wrong with liberal logic..you are beyond help.

there is always a risk of repercussions from your employer. a violation of free speech however would involve government interference. some are saying his free speech right were violated and they were not.

"Suspended indefinitely" is the term they used. Seems like they fired him to me.

This is actually illegal. You cannot fire someone for their personal beliefs. A&E said very plainly in their statement that it was Phil's personal beliefs that they had an issue with.

T.nie, if you think the Robertsons are going away, you're more ignorant than I thought.

You also have no clue about what Jesus did while on earth. You need to read up on the Pharisees and how Jesus dealt with them.

Yes, Jesus forgives sinners! That's what he is all about, and the reason he came to earth. The point is, it is AFTER they ADMIT/CONFESS their sinful ways that he forgives them. Having gay pride parades and touting how they should be "accepted" is nowhere near confessing their sins of homosexuality. The gay community touts homosexuality as "normal" and "acceptable." Nowhere will you find Jesus say that is the case. Until they confess that it is sinful and ask for forgiveness, they will go to hell (as will anyone else who doesn't confess their sinfulness and accept Christ as Savior). Sorry if it offends anyone, but that is Biblical. The fact that some are offended doesn't make it less true.

Would that not depend on how his contract is written on rather they can suspend or fire him?
