Only because I heard people grumbling about it, that two car purchase Scott wanted was a financial imposition for most grassroots racers. Then, I recall, you couldn't just sell a used chassis to anyone willy-nilly although it was your car.

Also, between an autopsy and the NTSB, you will probably know, eventually, what happened. That barn is right in front of his house, if it's the right barn I'm thinking of, and the runway is between the barn and the house. Go figure?

Video I posted has an aerial photo of the layout.

I just figured he could have had a good business with selling his cars. Yeah I wasn't sure if there would be an NTSB investigation into the crash or not. Thanks for the info

The barn is within a few hundred feet of his parents’ house. Sad to think they have had to look at that every day since the crash.

Not sure how much info NTSB can get considering the plane wasn't registered, he always flew 100ish foot off the ground, no electronics on the plane. My guess is we will get minimal info from the autopsy due to family wanting to keep it secret. Until somebody in the inner circle comes out and speaks, speculation. Obviously I'm not above speculating. Puzzles me how many can't see the obvious? Look at the video I posted. View the layout of airport/land between airport & barn. Couldn't be more obvious to me.

The giveaway to me was the speculation made by the county sheriff. They are not ones to very often speculate until all the facts are in unless they know a little something we don't know.

They don't need a black box to do a pretty good investigation.

Yeah I'm not familiar on what type of investigation would be done on this type of aircraft and your right if an autopsy is done the family doesn't have to release the findings.

Was Scott a big Elvis fan by chance? If so, I find it ironic he and Elvis share the same date of death.

In my experience, the NTSB does a very thorough ( and expensive) investigation whenever an airliner crashes. They usually do a very quick and simple investigation for a small aircraft with a single fatality. Also, this aircraft does not have a “black box” (flight data recorder), which seriously limits the amount of information they have available to perform an investigation. The final report should be published in the next six months or so.

Scott was a big rock and roll fan. I am not so sure he was a 'big' fan of Elvis though.

As others have mentioned for most of the time leading up to his hip injury his personal program was his primary focus. He had setup a deal with Randy Sweet who built a special production area just to fabricate his cars, I think in preparation of looking towards retirement and/or racing less and selling more. It seems like this only lasted a couple of years or less until Randy himself suddenly died, its why they were called, "Sweet-Bloomquist Cars". Seems like he moved production back to his shop, but it appeared he was trapped in a perfect storm of problems that seemed to impede any forward progress or momentum. Divorce, Surgeries, Leg Numbness, Failed partnerships, Financial woes, Sponsor woes, Age, Controversy, Death of business partner, confidant and friend. From the outside it looked like the hits just kept on coming. Add in some bad decisions and its no wonder the chassis thing struggled to get any serious legs.

So after a few weeks of thinking about it...I don't believe it was a suicide.

It's easy to look at the bad things that have happened but after hearing how excited he was to drive the Manny Falcon car and that he very recently was still organizing Team Zero stuff (sending Jig to Barry Wright etc.) it just doesn't make sense. He still seemed as keen as ever in interviews. Maybe I'm being naive but who knows?
