(Above that point, it would be a vapor, not a lake.)We have then, temperature of heaven, 525°C. Temperature of hell, less than 445°C. Therefore heaven is hotter than hell.

What???? I have no idea what you are attempting to say. All I do know, is that you DENY the existence of a heaven and a hell, yet attempt to tell the temperatures of both. How does that make sense?

I refuse to believe that these things happened because they are not possible, but the only explanation is "I refuse to believe". Try rationale thinking for a bit.

What do you say to medically (scientifically) verified miracles of healing? I could site numerous doctors who say there have been countless cases where there is NO other explanation of people who were documented with diseases such as cancer and in a moments time (many without treatment of any kind) are suddenly cancer free. I suppose it is coincidence?

I say there is no heaven or hell and then go on to show you why, but then again the only excuse I've read is that everything in the bible is different from reality. Of course.

Doesn't make any difference, God says it will be fine for us. Accept it. Remember, there actually are scriptures that deal with that, go to the source, why beat around the bush?

I have some questions for you Bushee, if you wouldn't mind answering them. I am very curious as to your thoughts. I was admittedly raised in a Christian home all my life, so my faith came easy. Not to say it has not been challenged, but I have always come back to it being the only answer for me.

I am curious though, since you do not believe in God:

What do you believe is the reason for our existence?

Is there one?

Do we exist, only to cease to exist when we die?

How did we come into being?

Was it by "chance"?

Why do humans have a sense of right and wrong (morals)?

Why can humans experience love?

Why are humans capable of feeling guilt?

If we're just here to "exist", and have no meaning, why not just live for ourselves and screw everybody else? Why have laws? Why do we have a desire to help others?

These are not trick questions. I have a genuine desire to know how an atheist thinks.

I have hard time understanding how anyone can look at the many miraculous things in this world and not see a creator behind them.

I too, at times, have struggled with the suffering and senseless death that goes on in this world as well. BUT, does not the very fact that we struggle with those things prove that we have something innate within us, that could not be there by accident? Why would us wanting to do something about the suffering really matter, if all we were on earth to do was to exist for a time, and then cease to exist?

I reread your post. I don't think you realize that the Isaiah text you site is a prophecy. That is, it is saying this will occur in the future (in the last days). It has nothing to do with the sun and the moon NOW.

So your attempted point is mute.

I'm still curious how "science" (which according to you, refutes the existence of heaven and hell) knows where heaven and hell are, to be able to tell what the temperature is there???? Do you know of some Bible reference that tells us how far away from earth heaven is? Please share it, if you do.

To assert that the universe has a purpose implies the universe has intent. And intent implies a desired outcome. But who would do the desiring?

The creator.

And what would a desired outcome be?

A creation that loves God and a God who loves his creation.

That carbon-based life is inevitable? Or that sentient primates are life’s neurological pinnacle? Are answers to these questions even possible?

They are to me.

Of course humans were not around to ask these questions for 99.9999% of cosmic history. So if the purpose of the universe was to create humans then the cosmos was embarrassingly inefficient about it.

You are confusing the universe/cosmos with God the creator. I do not contend that the universe created us, but that the universe was created by God.

I really wish you would just answer my questions, one by one, instead of a long litany of garble.

I am attempting a respectful discussion, but you are making it hard.

Can you please take my questions and answer them, so I can get a feel for how you perceive your existence?
