I am only one person w/ 15 minutes in the morning prior to work, but I will try and address all commentators as best I can.

Infant mortality by definition includes all deaths up to age 1. So the premature rate goes away, but SIDS deaths may be higher here.

Crossing state lines may work or could make it worse. Say WV has a higher rate and then everyone goes to PA and buys a plan. That has the potential to raise costs in both states: WV b/c it lost customers & PA b/c it may get an unheathier pool of insurance applicants seeking cheaper insurance rates. Never said America has a poor health care system, but the poor have a hard time accessing the system. So, yes the well to do from other countries come here for care.

Have no idea that ACA will or will not improve the infant mortality rate, which is why I included the last phrase of 'at least modifying things to get there.' I personally do not like it either and those who have followed me from the beginning will know that I prefer a single payer system.

For those who remember history, the ACA is modeled on the Republican retort to Clinton's 1990's effort to address healthcare issues. Some doctors are opting out of the plans true, but they may eventually need to come back as their patient load decreases below and acceptable ROI from their degree. However, I doubt the media would cover that happening in a year or two.

Maybe many politicians aspire to be part of the entertainment industry, but hussien wants to be a rap star and that $hit isn't music, it's $hit. A demographic that voted strongly for hussein is the largest consumers of the sound (can't really call it music) and they are by far the segment of voters that are the most indoctrinated, least informed and most easily influenced.
