And let's be honest.....the local guys that run with the woo or Lucas guys aren't running the 2007 rockets.....the ones that run the Lucas ,woo shows have those 45k xr1 pieces that dominate the local scene.

Again , we both know that.....
So you think it would be best if the guys that don't have all that cash to blow on brand new equipment just shouldn't bother? I'm sure everyone will be lining up to pay out a $40k purse to a 22 car field for the LOLMDS or WoO series. Those are the guys the sport needs. I remember some serious complaining about the 21 car field at Macon for the LOLMDS. People better get used to it in a hurry if this is the outlook that some people involved with the sport have.

Just so you know there were a bunch of cars at Selinsgrove this past week that fall into the category of not having a brand new $90k car.

Because if your claim is that tires only ruined asphalt racing , it's going to be an embarrassing thread for you..
In my neck of the woods it certainly was the last straw. There is some other stuff that contributed to the downfall in most areas but tires are counted as the biggest issue. It has absolutely murdered the little guys. If they are still around they run just one track so that they can put every single tire they purchase into that track inventory. The second they go somewhere else it is like starting over. Not an easy task for a team trying to run a $10k car on a shoestring budget.

I've said several times that the changes they are doing now are far from perfect......it's funny how most of the sky is falling crowd on 4m have no problem saying what they are trying won't work............but have yet to offer up any ideas of their own.

I can go to the average Modified race and point out 5 cars that are in violation of the body rules in one way or the other. How many people know a Street Stock driver with 1st gear removed to lighten the car up. They don't check that stuff every week (and in many cases not at all ever) and the drivers know it.
If they never enforce those rules anyway, and if you as a promoter can walk up to a competitor and spot an infraction and you don't dq them or mandate they correct it.

What's the point of having the rule?

Man you like to twist words, did I say I can walk through the pits at one of my tour races and point out cars out of compliance? No I did not, so I'm not sure where you got that from. I said at the average Mod race. We tech bodies every race in the series I am involved with, but there are tracks almost everywhere that don't.

                      Thanks,
                      Jeff.

I don't know which $10k car that is running on a shoestring budget that can apparently drop $600-$900 at every race for tires they can only use once you are involved with -- but thanks for being involved with the sport!

Also, you are certainly not the only one here who is involved on that side of it. I know there a bunch of people on this forum (including myself) who regularly work on teams both at the track and at the shop.

                        Thanks,
                        Jeff.

What the hell does it matter if they make the show? Its like you think that the tracks are thrilled when 24 cars show up (news flash: in most places in the country said tour will not be invited back after a car count like that for a $10k/$8k to win race). This sport needs drivers who are running in the LCQ just as much as it needs drivers running in the A Main. If you fail to see that then it explains your stance on just about every issue on here.

                          Thanks,
                          Jeff.
