Final appeal

Well said and I agree with you.......hardly anything gets overturned on appeal with the leagues or sanctioning bodies.Originally posted by vande07 View PostJust my opinion, but if the NFL can suspend players, the NFL hears the appeals, and then lawyers get involved and the NFL still wins, my guess is a precedent has already been set and the drivers will lose in court.
NASCAR has the same type of system. Appeals go to a board (that NASCAR chose the particpants of). Hardly anything ever gets over-turned.
IMO, intent to cheat, blatant cheating, whatever has no bearing at all. Your tires either meet the benchmarks or they don't. It doesn't mean you cheated, just means your tires don't meet the benchmark set by the manufacturer.
That's why it ends up in the courts........and even then it's rare to get it overturned.
But let's be honest here.......NASCAR and the big leagues of major sports are a little more buttoned up and have much better systems in place and the leagues have players unions looking out for their behalf.
If DLM racing had a " players union" sorta set up.......these guys would never race another lap with these rules written like they are today.
You bring up some good points.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

and lost everytime since.....and won't even fight against the latest ruling. He'll be missing 4 games (which is more than he would have had he just taken his punishment according to pretty much everyone close to that situation).Originally posted by Dirt Racing #1 View PostTom Brady the first time won in court!!'
Dragging it into court has hurt him more than helped him. It's kept the story in the news as opposed to letting the next thing take over the news cycle.

Yes, those are the "big leagues", but WRG modeled their testing and process after NASCAR. In fact, most of the WRG brass worked at NASCAR. Pretty sure they will have all their ducks in a row if someone takes them to court.Originally posted by Barbecueboy View PostWell said and I agree with you.......hardly anything gets overturned on appeal with the leagues or sanctioning bodies.

And more than likely would have gotten it reduced to 2 games had he not gone to court. Now he'll miss 4 games THIS SEASON and be barred from practice, meetings, and all contact with the team. He ended up with a harsher penalty by fighting it.Originally posted by Dirt Racing #1 View PostIt didn't hurt him. He played the first 4 games of last season.

Believe me, if you got 15 or 20 of the top drivers to say, "we're sticking together, and this is how things are going to be".....any series that wanted to have a crowd would listen.Originally posted by Krooser View PostDrivers are independent business owners... Really? They tried that with Sprint Cars TWICE and failed both times (United Sprint Association - 1989 I think) and National Sprint Tour (mid-2000's I think). All the power teams/drivers (Steve Kinser, Sammy Swindell, Mark Kinser, Danny Lasoski, etc., etc.) backed the new associations, yet the World of Outlaws came out on top due to name recognition of the Series (it sure wasn't because the drivers following them were household names).Originally posted by BloomerHarvickFan View PostBelieve me, if you got 15 or 20 of the top drivers to say, "we're sticking together, and this is how things are going to be".....any series that wanted to have a crowd would listen.
The hardcore fans know who the top drivers are, but the "fairweather fans" that only attend the big events and don't follow the racing series only see the name on the Marquee (World of Outlaws is a "name brand" in racing, same as NHRA, NASCAR, INDYCAR and F1. They don't pay attention to who will be their racing, they say things like "We're going to see the Outlaws tonight at XXX speedway in XXXXX!"

At Brady's age. Those four games he will miss. Will probably help him out. Yes he wants to play.Originally posted by vande07 View PostAnd more than likely would have gotten it reduced to 2 games had he not gone to court. But wouldn't it be the same if an electrician ( who owns his business independently) but is part of the Union be able to litigate and still be legal?
And again, I don't know.......was just trying to understand.....not a big Union guy.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Hope so.......and fwiw, there is probably a very good reason they don't work for NASCAR anymore.Originally posted by vande07 View PostYes, those are the "big leagues", but WRG modeled their testing and process after NASCAR. True.....but social media wasn't really doing much then.......it's a whole new world and people know things instantly now versus word of mouth as it was then.Originally posted by vande07 View PostReally? I think the guy is right........if 15 or 20 top guys said enough is enough, somebody would listen.
I wish somebody like a bloomer or Moyer would throw their name around and start a true world of outlaw........run open motor and open tires.
Woo and Lucas would be who and what once that took hold.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Truth be known about the legal car issue, there should be so many drivers on suspension (the ones that didn't get caught) to destroy all the major racing sanctions and most of the so called "CROWN JEWEL" races remaining this season including the World 100 and the DTWC.
A few are paying the price for many.
