I can remember them saying how expensive it was to have to bring 30 or 40 tires every week, and so forth...but the dirty little "secret" is that cost cutting measures in racing NEVER cut costs. They only allow the teams with the money to shift it into another area, hurting the smaller teams even more.

i don't think it's totally open where drivers are allowed to run "dangerous" tires. That's not fair to anyone. By dangerous I mean one that's been altered so much, it greatly increases the chances of a blowout that will take out innocent drivers.Originally posted by old fan View Postso what is the answer
Ideally, a driver could take his wheels to a Hoosier mobile facility, tell them which tires to mount, and have them ready in time to groove them and get them ready for the night.
Nascar teams actually have their wheels sent to Goodyear, tires are mounted and brought to the track ready to go. That wouldn't work in dirt, due to the drivers not knowing exactly which compound they'd want to use.

Since everyone does it.......and treating tires rampant.......and there are no documented cases of doctored tires causing injury or death, I would conclude that the warning stickers aren't written for safety but more fore sales.Originally posted by old fan View PostWhy is that they made the tire I guess safety means nothing to you does it
So no.......A warning sticker( similar to a pillow tag ) that is applied to increase tire sales mean nothing to me.Where is the move over flag when you need it?????

Well if they didn't have a tire rule, they would not have this problem ! Also a soft tire does not cost as much as buying one made soft A soked tire cost nearly $300 bucks so open would save money if they are trying to save, but these teams I don't think are trying to save, there trying to win .some will spend ten grand to try to win a grand.
