Second, there are plenty of social programs in this nation that work very very well and benefit us all. Of course, since you can't form a complete sentence that conveys a coherent thought, you obviously did not benefit from one of the most common and basic programs we all are supposed to enjoy--public education.

I don't see that changing, unless the republicans really screw up the farm bill, this month or next. The farmers aren't stupid on a whole. They vote their pocket book like everyone else and know that even though the democrats initiated a big spending farm bill it benefits corporate farms much more than family farms.

Now all we have to do is clear the cob webs so you can remember the history that these younguns just read about. If your honest with yourself, you can't really say one party made your life any better than the other. There was a whole lot of broken promises, you always made a dollar too much for free stuff and a dollar too little for the tax break. By now, you realize everyone will get sick and need health insurance and probably know someone that got sick, couldn't work, lost their insurance and went bankrupt. Before you retired, you saw your premiums going up year after year and coverage dwindling and that was before ACA. You also know large industrial and farming concerns draw a lot of laborers to the area and a good part of them are unemployed. These unemployed cost, You and I didn't advertise for them, yet we get to pay the bill for their keep.

The republican party thinks if you ignore them, they will go away. NOT, they become a boil that festers. The democrats seem to want to coddle them and take care of their every need. I think there is something in between. More than that, I think the ones that profited by their exploitation and abandoned them deserve to pay the bill. That wasn't the middle class.

Your right politics in Illinois is the pits. They say anything to get elected and do just as the big money supporters wish. Note, we had some republicans in Springfield and they do the same. It makes it easy to get bitter about all politicians.

No question about it Republicans are as much a problem as Democrats in Illinois. They all worship at the alter of the wildly corrupt chitcago machine.

Example, Glenn Poshard, a Southern Illinois Democrat ran against George Ryan, a Kankakee businessman who ran a chain of pharmacies. Ryan made his money by somehow securing fat government contracts to supply nursing homes with drugs. Ryan was wired in tightly with the chitcago political machine that is heavily Democratic.
Poshard, on the other hand was a gun rights advocate and a friend to downstate concerns. Ryan beat Mr. Poshard with the help of the chitcago Democrat machine.

Point is, if the chitcago machine owns you it doesn't matter what consonant follows your name you'll get elected in Illinois and you'll do things the chitcago way.

The last governor of Illinois that wasn't part of the chitcago machine? Jim Edgar. It was entertaining to watch Edger refuse to kiss richie daley's ass but Edgar really wasn't all that effective in stemming the tide of the chitcago machine.

Oh, by the way, President hussein was/is a product of the corrupt chitcago machine and to us here in The Land O' Lincoln & crooked politicians it is clearly evident.

not enough there for little farmer to make it anymore,he usually has a full time job and leases out farm land silos and fields for cattle and then maybe just breaks even after he pays taxes.
