I don't know. The guy had a lot of facets of his life headed the wrong way. He was used to being on top. According to his words on the Dale Jr podcast, he thinks we just get a new life when we die. It all makes perfect sense to me. I'm pretty sure there are people that have actual evidence. There's been guys like Birky actually say it and others who have kinda hinted at it.Modern Day Spec Wedge Racing

Don't you think you would nose dive at full speed or hit that barn at full speed if you meant to go out that way? I just don't buy it and never will. If I'm gonna kill myself with an airplane the last thing I'm doing is burning up alive.Originally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View Post

How do you know what the approach speed was? Which is softer, ground or a large post in a barn?Originally posted by WisWildManFan View Post

as a self proclaimed expert on tearing (not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word)(not a nice word) up I'm gonna say in my professional opinion the plane wasn't going fast at all. It was too intact. As far as if their was or wasnt a jug of fuel in the back seat. If you believe any of the many stories scott told over the years for why he did it didn't do Somthing im sure their was a perfectly logical explanation that only scott himself could explain. Unfortunately most of us will never know what really happened. The only thing that is certain is the greatest to ever do it is no longer with us and im definitely gonna miss watching himOriginally posted by MasterSbilt_Racer View Post

I wonder if the NTSB will release an official report on this accident like they do commercial flights? It will be the only way we ever know for sure what happened. I’m sure it’s possible even they won’t know for sure.
Either way, what a tragic loss for his family and the entire sport. It’s really sickening. The decline of Bloomer has taught me one thing, we all have the same enemy and it’s called Father Time. I will always remember the Bloomquist who was on top of the world winning race after race at Eldora and other tracks around the country.

Clearly you are another one who didn't listen to what Birkhofer said. Birky was asked what his thoughts were when he heard the news, he answered the question. In no way did he say, or accuse Scott of taking his own life, he simply mentioned that was a thought that went through his mind.Originally posted by WisWildManFan View PostFeel like Birky interview was him getting back at Scott for his one lap one crown interview at Eldora in 22 when he basically told Birky his two miracle last lap passes weren't what he thinks they are with the two whites at Eldora and broken driveshaft at Knoxville. I would accuse Scott of faking his own death before I would ever accuse him of crashing intentionally. It's a real shame because I honestly think he had a couple more magical moments left in him in the middle of the track at Eldora if he ever got healed up correctly. RIP GOAT
I doubt those comments bothered Brian at all, if he even heard them to begin with. Besides, Birky never claimed either instance to be a miracle, the racing media did. Lol. Every driver who beat Scott over the years 'got a gift'..... that wasn't a secret. He seemed to be a hard guy to get a compliment from, unless you were associated with him or his program in some way. There's not anything wrong with that, in fact, it worked out well for Scott.... win or lose everyone was talking about him. We will all miss his presence, he kept the racing world on their toes for many years. RIP Scott

"Guys like that dont kill themselves" is a pretty ignorant comment and says a lot about society's view on things but thats a topic for another day.Originally posted by WisWildManFan View PostI would think there would be a better way to off yourself in a plane than barely bumping into a barn and burning to death. Guy had more confidence than anyone in the world, guys like that don't kill themselves. I would guess medical emergency, plane malfunction, or being up all night on a bender and hopping in a plane at 7am before I'll ever believe he killed himself on purpose. Feel like Birky interview was him getting back at Scott for his one lap one crown interview at Eldora in 22 when he basically told Birky his two miracle last lap passes weren't what he thinks they are with the two whites at Eldora and broken driveshaft at Knoxville. Birky's comments were pretty disrespectful. To say that not even 12 hours after it happened is a pretty average thing to do.
I don't have a strong opinion on what happened but what I do want to say that I found a bit odd was that Scott was supposed to be at the North South and then cancelled to "better prep for the Topless". He then decided to cancel on going to the Topless (didnt say why). Now the racing situation wasnt very good with funds etc. but to cancel on the Topless was a fair surprise.
His interviews haven't really hinted at anything. I must say that from photos I've seen it looks like the last few years have taken a significant toll on him.

His racing program was always no1 priority. Sure there are other factors but I think that sums it up. It also wasn't public in the same sense as other chassis.Originally posted by kidrock View PostI'm curious as to why Bloomquist's chassis business didn't take off? I'm sure some of you may know or have your thoughts as to why it didn't. I would have thought he would have had a lot resources at one time.
